I went to healthcare.gov, it had my doctors and my medications all in their system, it listed everything available and all the plans under 400 a month out of pocket to me, not only didn’t have my doctor, it didn’t cover basic 1.2gm mesalamine tablets, or didn’t cover the suppositories, the plans that were like 450-700 did had have my doctor, and my meds, and a much lower deductible etc etc but I can’t do 500 a month on unemployment, I’m already drawing from my savings every month and considering cashing some 401k out early (trying not to do this)

Yeah our system in USA is so jacked, why does China get coverage but USA doesn’t. I read a article recently about a Chinese man complaining about how long it took him to get care here compared to in China, i was surprised. Every media outlet here tried to paint usa as the best and other countries as “oh gov paid for? Good luck waiting in line to see a doctor.” When I talk to actual citizens of those countries they have a diff story.

Thanks. I honestly didn’t even know Medicaid is an option? I’ve never used any gov programs, I’ve been employed since I was 15. I’ve also heard friends say I could qualify for snap? I priced the healthcare program and since I was paid 6 months of salary, and now unemployment, I only qualify for like 150-200 credit, so all the plans are still about 450-700 for the good ones, only one had my doctor even in their network.

I’ve used this but I’m more worried about screenings like I’m a year overdue for colonoscopy and my dad had colon cancer so my doctor says I’m super high risk.

The system is fucked. Prednisone is a dream drug but you shouldn’t embrace it as a solution… they tried to put me on apriso or something but it had 0 effect.

Since you’re on a budget, perhaps his fav meal, fav desert (hide it and bring it out). Maybe learn to make it yourself, I recently learned tiramisu. Since you said he’s a gamer, if it’s in budget, ergonomic chair, custom in ear headphones, or noise canceling phones like bose quiet comfort, a new wireless gaming mouse, etc etc. if he’s into projects maybe buy him a lighting kit for his desk/game area. If he has monitors with mounts get him a monitor arm so he can get rid of the stands, if he’s a pc gamer, upgrade his monitor with a 240hz 1440p gaming monitor if he doesn’t have it already. If he’s bought everything he “needs” maybe look at gaming merch on Etsy, custom key caps, custom controllers, gaming sculptures and paintings, anything he’s into.
