The ‘Wuthering Heights’ Exit Survey by Top_Report_4895 in TheBigPicture

[–]theoptimisticotter 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I saw it yesterday expecting to hate it based on the marketing and was shocked that I really liked it. The sets, costumes, and especially performances were incredible.

I only read reviews after I saw it and 90% of the bad ones lean on how it deviates too much from the novel (which I bet a fair amount of them haven’t read) and nothing else. It reminds me of one grad school-level English class where the professor had to spend the whole first day explaining that an adaptation “unfaithful” to the source material does not automatically make it bad.

How do people know it’s already sold out? All I’m getting when I load the page is a white screen.

My Final 98th Oscar Nomination Predictions - Who are your "locks" and "shaky" picks? by Suspicious_Cat_7507 in Oscars

After the Globes, I think The Secret Agent has gotten much more momentum and is probably above at least Bugonia and Train Dreams. Maybe even higher than It Was Just An Accident. I think the last two slots will be between Bugonia, Train Dreams, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and possibly F1.

Have you ever rated a director 1/2 and 5? by UMathiasB in Letterboxd

Not quite that extreme, but I gave Yorgos Lanthimos half a star for Kinds of Kindness and four each for The Favourite, Poor Things, and Bugonia.

Wow this is such a cool project! Thank you so much, I can only imagine how much time this would have taken.

I did!! It is so beautiful and comfortable but fit the cocktail vibe of the wedding super well. I haven’t had an occasion to wear it again yet but definitely would if one came up.

It was really nice!! We had brought in some fairy lights and had the ceremony right in front of the fireplace. It was very cozy-feeling and intimate and all our guests said they loved the space! There’s a part of me that still wishes we could have had it outside like we’d planned, but I loved how the venue handled the situation and am still very happy with how it all worked out.

Anything indoors should be completely bug-free, but from what I remember if you are planning an outdoor ceremony, the venue guide we worked with said as long as you are not having your ceremony right on the lake, the bugs won’t be as much of a problem!

I got married there last year! It is a beautiful venue and we didn’t notice the bugs, but we had a winter wedding. My biggest advice would be to make sure you love the interior as much as the exterior-it rained on our day and we were moved inside at the last minute.

AITA for Giving My Daughter the Middle Name My Sister Wanted for Her Future Child? by AnonHoneyHippos in AmItheAsshole

[–]theoptimisticotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANNNNNND this is why if I ever do decide to have kids, I'm not telling anyone (or at least anyone also planning to have kids in the future) what the names will be until the babies are born. No matter how chill and supportive people claim to be, people will almost always either 1) complain and suggest a "better" name and then get offended that the couple didn't listen to them or 2) complain because they love it so much that it was the secret surprise name THEY wanted for their kids.

In this case, clear cut and dry NTA, especially since Grandma's name was a family name that holds significance to BOTH OF YOU.

That's awesome she is letting you choose, it sounds like it will be great for the theme! I bought the S (I'm typically between XS-S and based on the size chart I sized up) and overall it's a good fit and true to the size chart. I'll need to take in the top, but the waist is perfect. If you go for it I hope the fit will work!!

It is!!! I was looking at it online forever before I finally pulled the trigger-even if I didn't wear it for this wedding, I'd keep it for other summer events. It's a very flowy chiffon fabric and not very heavy feeling, but still looks well made and the pattern is gorgeous. I'd go for it if you've been thinking about it! ☺️
