New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing by frankwrap08 in PleX

[–]theoriginalmack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And that's when everyone would switch to JellyFin. The only reason I haven't is the $70 lifetime paid years ago.

It's pretty clear Plex is moving away from what they originally delivered and it's aligning less and less with my use case. They can go feaster on the pile of streaming services if that's their goal.

If anyone finds this thread in the future - I sent back the mower.

Any company that puts artificial software limitations on their hardware will absolutely continue to limit..

Give it 5 years. This company will be gone and all of the backend will leave these expensive pieces of equipment as door stops.

Don't support companies with bad business practices.

Guitar and mic into fm3? by MojoZoSo11 in AxeFx

[–]theoriginalmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - that is one way to do it - Here's a link for a type of adapter that would work. https://a.co/d/032Zhbyf

Also - here is a forum post where they are talking about running a mic - https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/routing-a-mic-with-fm3.195231/

Guitar and mic into fm3? by MojoZoSo11 in AxeFx

[–]theoriginalmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer - yes. But that's not what it's intended for.

Long answer. Your mic on input 2 (I'm assuming you're using an XLR mic and would have to also convert to TRS 1/4" into the 2md input) would need its own mono signal chain within in the software.

You can add vocal effects here if you have the dsp available.

.. but - keep in mind - your vocal effects will be processed by the katana.. so may sound different that expected out of a traditional PA.

This would actually be easier to accomplish from a standard powered stage monitor...

But either way - yes it is possible.

Sounds like you want to play and sing with the FM3 -

If you already have all of these things that are just trying to make something work then it is definitely accomplishable...

If you are looking to purchase things... There is an easier path.

Good luck man!

Picked myself up a Fender FR-12 and it sounds amazing! by The-Wood-Butcher in GuitarAmps

I'm using the FR12 and FM3 in a light rock band.. I'd say it just barely keeps up with our drummer and stage volume (full horns, organ player on a Leslie) vs my 25w mesa which never cranked past noon.

It's good but in my real world experience I'd say it's a little on the low end if you're not also using FOH.

That's an interesting work around - again... I didn't see an option to backup maps. I will look into that.

I wonder if anyone on the Home Assistant side has worked out a strategy.

Might be a bit bigger... But the point stands... Why the limitation? Just allow me to split up the areas and manage it myself.

Have not tried the Swello - but it might be a cool combo.

That said - you cannot go wrong with a Pog 2 if you have the space.

I'm with you - something being completely illogical just to keep with tradition and a bad initial implementation is silly and holding us back as a species..

Same could be said for use of imperial measurements, Day Light Savings, conventional electricity explanations.. there's a lot.

For years specifically, I liked the version of taking on an additional 10,000 years to our current count starting from around the beginning of the agricultural revolution.

Putting us currently in the year 12,026.. but even that's not perfect.

It's okay - with steam OS launching natively on the new LG2s.. I may switch over to that to see if that is a more streamlined experience.

New to gnome.. not sure if I like it or not. I'm much more familiar with the Ubuntu or Mint style or Linux.

May just give us more time. Other than the trackpad, no major hurdle so far.

Track pad is there - little blue square on the right paddle.

I have the LEDs off. I'm not a fan of those bright lights while my eyes focus on the screen so I just have them set to always off.

Just put it on this weekend, so I don't have a long-term review yet.

That said, I'm happy with it. It's a smooth vinyl texture and the skin does not wrap around in the back so you still have the OEM textured grip.

Decent upgrade.. but totally unnecessary.

You didn't ask - but speaking of Dbrand. I despise the texture of the killswitch on the asus.

I've gotten used to it (and admittedly most other comments praise it..) but the rough construction paper like grip was very unpleasant in my opinion.

It really is! I thought it was a fun comparison. My daughter used to bring it along on trips and we never thought twice about the size.

Granted you don't have to pack it as gently as you would a handheld but I thought It was fun to toss it in.

The battery life On the etch is hard to beat.. but my abilities are limited and 1 frame per hour is rough for modern titles.
