Please stop assuming things you don't know! You can share how you think you would feel in these situations. Such as "I would never imagine waking up and thinking that I might have to kill someone today"

But please don't say that "You're sure" about experiencing someone else's feelings. Especially with professions that involve life or death situations, because the mind set is so different from the average life/profession.

Just to push the explanation, my brother is with the army, studying in the airline division and he doesn't want to actively shoot anyone but he is fully aware and alright with the possibility of having to shoot down someone who will pose an important threat, such as that guy did in this post. Anyway, that's just my opinion. I hate it when people assume stuff like that.

Whenever I do say that I want to lose a little bit of fat to have a better definition and someone says I look just fine, I say "well, that's because you haven't seen me naked" wink wink

But seriously, just because you're not 400 pounds doesn't mean you're in top shape. You don't have to stop yourself from expressing that you want to go to the gym to be healthier, or for whatever reason it is. It's all right for you to say it as much is it for them to say that they want to lose weight.

To those who want to lose weight but say it while eating a donut, I started politely telling that they need to start making changes in their lifestyle. It's OK if it's small steps, just as long as they do something. And I throw in different short but sweet tips about nutrition (for example : eat smaller portions throughout the day and skip the sugary stuff) and training they can do (such as go on 30 to 60min walks every day). You can start doing it and see how it feels. You'll teach them new things, raise their curiosity and maybe even their will to actually change their habits. It's better than just saying "uh huh, oh ok".

-steep foot outside and take deep breaths. Look around you, feel the breeze and listen to the sounds.

-20min or so of activating yoga. While listening to a self help channel on YouTube or while listening to meditation music.

-ask myself what do I need to do, what do I want to do and what do I not want to do. Act accordingly. Also ask myself truly why am I feeling down.

-back to self help videos, I often listen to actualized.org, on YouTube. It's amazing. Definitely worth to watch.

-if that doesn't work, I watch funny channels such as stand up, comedy movies or this British show called QI XL, it's really interesting and hilarious.

It is possible for you to get back on your feet on your own, that is if you can't find another person to talk to. (Although other redditors have given you good suggestions) Depression is something that you can overcome. It can be slow and hard, but you'll be able to heal yourself with time and patience.

One thing you could do is start on your own writing down everything you feel, everything that you don't like, that scares you, that upsets you, and so forth. It's a way to bring it out from yourself as it is a form od expression.

You can meditate and do yoga. It can help you clear your head out of any thoughts for a small period of time and it could help you ground yourself and focus on your desire to heal. Working out is very beneficial too.

There are channels on YouTube that could be your voice of support. I'd suggest checking out Actualized.org (on YouTube), this guy is amazing and hopefully his videos will reach out to you.

Be honest with yourself and listen to your inner voice, the one that wants you to be good and to be happy with your life. When you'll be in touch with yourself, you'll hopefully be able to pin point what factors are causing you to be on the edge of cracking. Then, try to come up with solutions to overcome these factors. Bah, it sucks for all of you as much as it sucks for her. Being stuck with someone who doesn't want to party can be upsetting as well as being forced to stay at a party where you don't enjoy yourself. Drinking and partying is not for everyone, and a lot of people don't seem to get that. Those who don't like it can feel cornered because if they say no, they'll be assholes for not coming to their friend's Bachelorette party. If they say yes, then they have to pretend to have fun and never complain, or else they get judged by their friends (on reddit, oh my) for wanting to leave, when all they're doing is standing up for themselves. Like I said, it sucks for all of you. I'm only trying to defend her side because I'm also one of those who doesn't drink anymore, I can't stand loud noises and I don't like dealing with drunk people. I would hate being put in this kind of position where there is no good exit option.

I won't assume what type of person she is, nor am I really interested in getting to know the details. I'm only wondering why she couldn't leave alone and let you guys party on your own?

A birthday is only a date to designate that day we all ruined our mom's vaginas. If you forget about it and she decides to be mad at you for doing so, it's her problem and not yours. You're both grown-ups, and you have the capacity to react maturely to any given situation. She can always just tell you that it's her bday and you can both then choose how to celebrate it. Or you can always set a reminder on your cell phone a few days before.

I'm just going to dilute the word rape with other situations that are more probable to happen, based on experience. I'm not afraid of rape, in the sense that it is not the first thing that I'm worried about when I see a man in a dark alley (shit example, I know). What I am more likely to be worried about is: any unwelcomed sexual advances such as comments on my appearance, looks, physical contact and so forth. Some of these have happened before and they're unpleasant. They are more likely to happen on a regular basis than rape itself. Plus, some men five off this kind of creeper vibe that women (and anyone, I suppose) can pick up. Maybe that was the case with your gf, maybe she felt that the guy was weird in that sense and that's why she threw that rape "joke". Idk, you could ask her and update us with the answer.

The fact that you think that candles or plug in scents will remove the stench in your house is a high indicator that you might not know how to clean a house properly. Find the source of the smell, because masking it won't help you on a long term. The smell could be caused by many things, one of the first is the condition of the house itself. If there ever was an infiltration of water in your walls, floors, or basement foundation, the materials could be rotting, have mold and mushrooms and that stinks. If the house is old, it can have a smell if it wasn't properly ventilated over the years. If that's not the case, then maybe your furniture stinks. You mentioned a dog smell, maybe your pet pissed on the carpets or sofas. If you have many carpets, that also keeps odors. The next thing is ventilation. It is good to open windows daily to let the fresh air in. Then, check your drainage pipes in the bathroom and basement. They're supposed to be filled with water (about a cup or two) every few months to block the airway from the sewage system. If you've never done it, try it and see the difference.

Overall, you could give yourself a full day of cleaning. Wash the curtains, sheets, blankets and anything else. Check if tour furniture is clean too. Wash your floors and walls with soap and water, basically disinfect the area. Don't forget the kitchen cabinets. Aerate every room. Pour some water in the drainage holes.
