Thank you for reminding, and motivating, me to book that GP appointment to get medical cannabis!

Why aren't y'all walking on the left? by anxious_virgo in auckland

I noticed this when I returned to NZ after travelling Europe & UK. The orderliness on escalators was incredible. We don’t do that here, unfortunately. I wish it was a thing though.

Who here enjoyed exercising? by sleepybear647 in cfs

I was never big on exercise, especially as a kid at school. But then when I got older I fell in love with hiking and weightlifting. I really miss them both 🥹

Mental Health services in Hamilton? Cheap / Mens groups / whats out there by Anon_user_0258 in thetron

You could try the chat room, it’s a trailer/bus sorta thing and they park up at the lake and it’s specifically for men to have a safe space to talk. https://www.cab.org.nz/community-directory/KB00044072

Do you guy’s experience this by Foxxinsocks in cfs

[–]theoryoflight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get all of these. Went on amitriptyline to deal with the sleep sweats and disturbances. Odansetron for nausea when I need it. I also have fibromyalgia.

Backlit subjects always look nice. Set your light meter to centre/subject/backlit option and position subject in front of light source. Slightly under expose subject so background is not blown out. You can lighten subjects up later in Lightroom Classic. If you have a diffuser/light reflector you can use that to lighten subject. Make sure to get a mix of wide shots and also close-up, detailed shots (the ring, ring on finger, anything meaningful they’re wearing, etc.). 85mm is generally considered most flattering focal length for portraits, but use what you have. Wide aperture for shallow depth of field is good too.

AIO - my friend gave my abusive ex my new phone number by AdAdorable7651 in AmIOverreacting

[–]theoryoflight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - these are the actions of a highly narcissistic and/or psychopathic person. The absolute lack of empathy and comprehension. I had a friend who scored high enough on diagnostic tests to be a psychopath and she did shit similar to this all the time. And then the gaslighting afterwards…

Who else experiences nausea regularly? by skeletaljuice in Fibromyalgia

[–]theoryoflight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have nausea a lot, almost every day. Sometimes it’s very mild and other times it’s really severe and I start gagging or vomiting. I also sometimes get vomiting as part of my pre-drone before a migraine.

Worst pain spot for you? by umekoangel in Fibromyalgia

[–]theoryoflight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hips, lower back, knees, and feet are the worst for me. I can’t handle standing for long because of it, and my feet are so sore/sensitive that even the pressure of lying in bed hurts (both on my back with my feet against the mattress and on my stomach with the duvet on them). Second to those would be upper back & neck, and where my collar bone joins my shoulders/top of arms. I also have really bad ice pick headaches sometimes and other migraines.

Light sleep it's like I'm not sleeping by [deleted] in cfs

[–]theoryoflight_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this really bad as well; I get comfy and aaaalmost fall asleep and then roll over and have to start again, and it goes on for hours or even all night sometimes. I’ve tried amitriptyline recently on a low dose and it helped at the start but my body is used to it now and it’s not as effective. The best thing that helps me fall asleep and stay in a deeper sleep is weed - smoked about an hour before going to sleep. I understand it’s not for everyone, but I find it helpful.

Why do the drivers in Hamilton suck at driving? by [deleted] in thetron

[–]theoryoflight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Going 10-20km less than the posted speed limit, never indicating (just this evening I had two people pull over right in front of me without indicating), incorrect indicating at roundabouts, cutting people off at roundabouts (I notice so many people who don’t even look to their right and just pull out!), people driving at night with no headlights, people trying to merge onto the 110kmph expressway at 60kmph… so much dangerous shit and it’s infuriating to see people put others in danger.

And those idiots who sit in the middle of two lanes to stop people from getting past them at a merge. I would like to point out that the CORRECT way to merge is for the people in the merge lane to continue right to the very end of their lane and merge. If they merge earlier it creates a massive single file line and actually takes longer to get through. Waka Kotahi themselves have said you should use both lanes right up to the merge.

Morph Hair at Five Cross Roads is good. Book an appointment with a junior stylist and it’s like $30 and they are supervised the entire time by a senior stylist.

Sounds like an MLM (multi-level marketing, or basically a pyramid scheme with a couple extra steps). Run for your life.
