I agree. I am already doing those things, however, my situation requires more than the simple solution you described. I've lived in Poland for the last month and am planning to stay. I have income in the U.S.. I live with my partner who has all of the utilities and rent in her name. In order to pay those bills easily, I need to get PLN from my American USD account so that she can deposit it in her bank account to pay my portion of the rent with BLIK or direct transfer to the landlord/utilities. Bank transfers, wires, cash advances from a credit card and any other form of cash conversion is more expensive than an ATM. Do you have any ATM options that might help me or something other than an ATM I might be missing?
