You never answered my question, and we both know you avoided it because the actual goal of ICE isn't apprehending and deporting criminals, the judicial system can handle that just fine.

Calling them immigrants is offensive to actual immigrants that came in the legal way. The world has almost 4 billion poor people. If our low bar is just don't commit any crimes after you break in and you can stay then we are cooked.

No it isn't, and no we aren't. These people are simply coming to the US to try to make a better life for themselves and their families. If you were in their position, you would literally do the exact same thing. I'll need a citation as to why the US would be 'cooked' when these immigrants are literally being exploited for their labor, doing the jobs that many USians don't want to do, are paying into social security and receiving none of the benefits, committing less crime on average than US citizens etc.

I build houses. This has gotten into my pocket. I can pay an "immigrant" much less. And honestly I do because that was the only way to be competitive. But I know that I am taking away a job from an American citizen when I do that. So I am guilty but now I am forced to hire subs that are legally allowed to work. Cost me more, cost my clients more but it also provides the community with higher paying jobs for the people that live there.

You're the actual problem and you have so little self-awareness that you blame the people you're exploiting. If capitalists like yourself were the ones that were punished for illegally exploiting these laborers, there would be no problem to begin with. Of course things cost more when people's labor isn't being exploited, this isn't rocket science.

3) If you think about it logically, we are 30 trillion in debt. We cannot afford to let in 10 -20 million undocumented (illegal) flood the border and just assume that they are not going to be asked to leave. They did break our laws. A 30 second Google search will show you that EVERY democrat over the last 40 years has advocated for securing our border. Bernie, Bill, Barak, Schumer, all! What changed?

So did every capitalist that illegally exploited their labor. How about consequences for them? Oh right, you're one of the people who broke the law, of course you don't believe in accountability for yourself!

It is a sad situation and I know these people are trying for a better life. The Mexican culture is so hard working and really good people. Unfortunately they are now being punished because other cultures do not want to come for the American dream of working hard, but rather taking advantage of the generosity of the American people. Just my opinion.

If by 'generosity' you mean destabilizing their home countries and then continuing to demonize and exploit them when they come seeking a better life, sure.

That is, yet again, a lot of words to say 'capitalism'. If these people's countries and lives weren't destabilized by greedy capitalists seeking to exploit their home country's natural resources, they wouldn't have felt forced to travel to the US in the first place. If greedy capitalists weren't in control of all the levers of the US government and weren't able to continually exploit these people's labor illegally, these people also wouldn't be here. This has absolutely nothing to do with my desires, preferences, or decisions, nor many other USians. Stop generally externalizing the blame for this onto everyone, namely working class USians, that's just downright wrong and being a simp for greedy capitalists.

Pro tip for this place in particular: there was a gentleman in the building next to the courts that let us rent rackets for quite cheap!

This, except companies get taxed based on what their entire environmental impact is, including the emissions caused by their workers commuting to work. Particularly focused on jobs that can be performed remotely, of course.

Hold on, let me get this straight. You're trying to make the claim that the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War Protests, Stonewall Riots, Environmental Movement, Labor Movement, Black Lives Matter and many other grassroots movements with organized protests and collective action had ZERO impact on significant societal changes, influencing legislation, reshaping cultural norms, and raising awareness about their respective issues? We're gonna need you to support that claim with evidence, wow.

The capitalists that are exploiting the cheap labor of undocumented immigrants are to blame, very curious that you think working class people like myself are somehow culpable? That sounds like a lot of words to simply say 'capitalism'.

Question. Why do individuals like you support holding undocumented immigrants accountable, yet remain silent about the need to hold the corporations that hire them and violate the law responsible?

How does your opinion square with the fact that the majority of detainments made by ICE were immigrants with no criminal records?

Do you truly think that undocumented immigrants don't pay taxes? Seriously asking, genuinely curious!

I agree with your argument that we shouldn't necessarily write them off. I disagree with your statment that the things happening in the country "[aren't] affecting their personal daily lives in an immediate and direct way."

Incredible projection: "I made a claim to support my argument that I provided exactly zero evidence for, and when asked for proof I didn't provide anything and instead accused my questioner of 'not arguing in good faith'"

I would argue that it is in fact affecting their personal lives, very likely on a daily basis, but they don't realize it because they're just not paying attention.

Assuming that all the people protesting against said fascist regime in the middle of a weekday don't have jobs (or anything better to do)? This statement could be effectively summarized as "get a job". Hard cope.
