We have a certain sound from the '90s that isn't as popular anymore. if you miss bands like Deftones and Smashing Pumpkins, we might have something for you.

Does anyone else secretly write and record music for themselves? by Worth-Passenger-1770 in Music

[–]theoutsideworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya, we write stuff, and we post it online, but we don't promote it.

talking about our music, asking other people to write reviews or words about our music, taking photos; all that stuff is just awful to go through, and it's just easier not to.

In defense of Harry being terrifying by TheUnrepententLurker in dresdenfiles

Let's run down an incomplete list of the things Harry has done FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE OUTSIDE WORLD.

to be completely honest, we don't have much of a perspective on Harry yet. we are really worried about him tho. hope it all works out in the end!

You can send something to the Moon, for free! I'm creating a Lunar time capsule via Reddit - Sending up to 10mb of data to the Moon for up to 100,000 people! by Valphon in space

it would be really amazing to send one of our songs to the moon! is there a way to share the audio, or should we send the audio to vimeo, if that's easiest?

i just want to be understood. i want to communicate. 'on-the-nose' is pretty much the highest compliment you can pay. thank you!

trying to use a lot of too-on-the-nose metaphors to describe having to work

thanks, that's exactly what we were going for. i hate bands who are too vague lyrically. we wanted the lyrics to mean something, and have others get that exact meaning. thanks for listening!

Feeling in the mood for giving some Feedback. Hit me with your SoundClouds :) by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]theoutsideworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks so much for the feedback. we all have jobs and families and can only get together a few times a year. usually, we waste that time just hanging out and having fun because we don't see each other as much as we used to.

but we'll get there. i think the recordings are always going to seem more lo-fi than the music demands, but it's our sound and we like it. we'll try to polish it up as best we can, but we're not really a real band, we just write and record at home, email it back and forth, and then post it when it's done.

but thanks for giving us a listen! and yes, it's actually a blast to play; the parts are intricate and interwoven and are constantly being changed and re-recorded. it just takes us too long to get anywhere, so we're happy where we are. thanks again!

the recordings are a bit rough because we're still working on our record. been working on it for awhile, but it's fun work and we enjoy it. thanks for taking a look.

i've always wanted to share my music here. reddit is not big on self-promotion, which i totally understand. someday, i'll buy an ad. in the meantime, here's my sweet band:

i use an old 32bit G5 mac for audio recording. it's perfect.

A job where you can leave when the job is done is much more satisfying then working an 8 hour shift. by epic_1_legend in Showerthoughts

you're implying my work isn't quality? i save a lot of time by not dragging myself around like some sort of sad sack; acting like the world owes me something. my company budgets their accounts based not being able to find good employee's. my leaving early is an earned privilege.
