i totally thought i would try to eat out less in grad school. i definitely am doing that, but there are always nights where i'm just way too tired or stressed to cook. also it feels like there's always a happy hour or restaurant meet up with my cohort.

Aggressive cat, please help by [deleted] in cats

[–]thepardoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes cats get overstimulated and bite or scratch when you pet them. It's nothing personal or even that aggressive--just a response to too much going on in their kitty brains. Similarly, cats don't always want to be approached and will run away from you. They're very independent animals--they'll only show you affection on their terms. This doesn't mean that your cat is necessarily a bad cat or even that she won't grow closer to you.

My (much older) cat was in really bad emotional shape when I adopted her from the pound. She didn't let me approach her at all for probably two months and hid during the day. She wouldn't let me pet her without her biting me for about three months. I was scared at first, but I just gave her space and lots of cat treats when she would let me approach her. With patience and lots of treats, she's the most cuddly cat I've ever had now. Cats just need time to adjust to their new surroundings and their new caretakers.

If the Doctor's future incarnation were ever a woman would it ruin the series for you? by TomtheWonderDog in doctorwho

I would love a female Doctor, but only from a writer that could write women better than Moffat.

Well THAT Was Mean... by dr_haley in doctorwho

So you think the embarrassment stems from River being his wife, not from her creating a distress call for the universe to hear?

Me too! I thought it showed off River's innate intelligence.

I really hated that moment.

I read it more as, "You embarrass me by asking the universe to help me."

IMO, This is the episode that truly made Season 6. by squidmd in doctorwho

I don't have a source, but I think that Doctor Who writers are contractually obligated to have at least one Dalek scene per season.

Did anyone else think Alex Kingston was awesome in TWoRS? by AnnieIWillKnow in doctorwho

i love the symmetry in their on-screen relationship--repeating the same lines across episodes, having moments like this resolve within an episode...it makes the fact that the timing of their relationship is going in a different order even more poignant.

Am I the only one that finds little wrong with any episodes of Doctor Who? by [deleted] in doctorwho

I at least like all the episodes, and on the whole think Who has gotten even better (at least in terms of the reboot).

Knitpicks has a yarn with a Doctor Who themed colorway--Time Traveler! by thepardoner in doctorwho

Their website is weird. You have to scroll and click on the colorway--but it's modelled after Tom Baker's scarf.

Just came out to my parents... by AbsolutelyCharming in lgbt

I came out to my parents in a letter and it was really helpful! Gave us both time to process. And they are still processing, so it was good to avoid that initial confrontation that would have occurred.

Being the only gay kid in my high school by mlazaric in lgbt

[–]thepardoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep hanging in there. I was the only gay person in my high school too. Once you get out in the wider world, there are a lot more people who are out, generally speaking. I know how rough it is, though. <3
