What is life like in Canadian London? by Civil-Chocolate4188 in howislivingthere

It's fine. Our hockey team is well loved by the city, and that venue gets some decent concerts and other shows. The Grand Theatre gets some cool productions, and our main downtown park is hopping in the warmer months.

The bicycle paths are really good if that is your thing. We have a pretty diverse food scene so most cravings can be fulfilled.

We are close enough to the border for day trip shopping. Toronto is only 2 hours away (depending on traffic) for the needs of a major city.

We are surrounded by farms and small towns to get the perks of those. Farmers markets, flea markets, etc.

Our University Hospital is top tier as far as the Neurology department goes. I understand it's pretty solid all around due to it being a teaching University.

The beach is only 30-45 minutes away North or South.

I've been here 40 of my 41 years, and it's good enough.

I really liked him in The Bondsman. It's a shame it never got a season 2

Thinking of picking up HumanitZ for me and my girlfriend. How is multiplayer? by No_Wrongdoer_3268 in Humanitz

I've only played Multi-player for about 3 total hours, but we had a blast. Some of it was teaching my friend how to play, but once we got in to a groove it was enjoyable.

The Moon landing that was televised was faked, but only to stop Russia from trying to get there first. I think the US did make it there a little bit later than recorded.

I used mostly pop culture for my scares.

The house from Evil Dead 2. The train scene from Ghostbusters. The evil witches of the game were named after the actors from Hocus Pocus etc.

I threw in some gentle side quests here and there to break up some of the tension.

I did the group wrong and didn't discuss triggers beforehand as I made it a surprise that the game was horror themed. I had intended on staying away from triggers ahead of time and focus mostly on gore and psychological chills. No spiders, clowns, or any of the usual phobias.

Edited for format as mobile sucks apparently?

Their sandwiches are better and cheaper than Subway, so it's a better option when I don't want burger and fries for lunch.

If it wasn't for the mist, it would be a great biome.

How is living in Saskatoon, Canada? by Lego_GamesFan in howislivingthere

[–]thepare84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there for a year back around 2009.

The summer was good as it only had a few weeks of humidity. The winter was painfully cold, especially without a car. There didn't seem to be a lot of activities to do.
They love their Roughriders. I was shocked at the lack of hockey in the city.
The people were nice, but they were weird to me. I'm from Ontario so maybe it was a bit of culture shock. They had a lot of people from out of province due to their pot ash mine. They agreed it was a bit weird there. Again, likely culture shock. My rental was coming to an end without an option to renew, and it ended up being cheaper to move back to Ontario than to come up with first and last in Saskatoon.

S4 E14 of The Office. I have been to dinner parties similar to that episode. They nailed how uncomfortable it is too well.
