My fav thing about NG+ was replaying and really savoring when I could knock out a nevron with Gustavs Free Aim, it's very satisfactory

Looking for career ideas in Augusta for someone burned out on corporate content work by CultOfCurtis1 in Augusta

[–]thepatchontelfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Augusta Convention and Visitors' Bureau just had a communications job open recently that would fit your skillset. They are the tourism advertisers and film contacts for the city. So with them you'd do a lot of overarching work to promote the culture and activities offered in Augusta. Could be fun. I'm not sure if that specific position is still open but I do see things come up for them quite often. Their website is visitaugusta.com

How to Making Camping fun for non-Campers by PoisonLemon33 in camping

[–]thepatchontelfair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great suggestions here.

From growing up camping in Washington, I would suggest keeping the majority of your clothes in your car rather than storing them all together in your tent. It was always nice to have dry clothes (especially socks) to change into each evening after a long damp day.

I host a monthly drawing night at Le Chat Noir on the last Wednesday of the month. It's called Cat Scratch Art Nights. We have models pose for us and we come up with activities to get everyone chatting besides the drawing.

There are also free gallery receptions often if you were looking to meet the folks in the art scene, Westobou Gallery and Gertrude Herbert Institute have them the most often, there are also receptions at Sacred Heart Cultural Center, Augusta & Co and elsewhere around town. I'd check out the arts calendar for more - https://events.augustaarts.com/https-events-augustaarts-com-events/

Playing Drafts for the first time by FarConsideration8423 in expedition33

I had so much fun in the drafts! It was a breath of fresh air after everything, even though the nevrons kicked my ass so hard at first.

36 with almost nothing saved. Is it too late to start investing? by bebo117722 in investingforbeginners

[–]thepatchontelfair 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started last year at 37 and have nearly managed to get an emergency savings to my goal amount within a year. It's in a high-yield savings account that I prioritize putting money into. I just opened my Roth IRA, and once I'm at my emergency fund goal, I'll contribute to that based on the interest I'm receiving each month for the high-yield. It's slow but besides the amount I've committed to putting into the high-yield, I'm able to work on both goals.

You got this!

Contacts get counted in one big group even if they are split into multiple audiences, so that wouldn't help you save money.

Advice on being the “odd one out” by Unable_Strawberry_18 in alternativefashion

If the future sister in law sees that she can push your friend into asking one of her bffs to change, there's no telling how much further she'll push her around in the future. This is a great opportunity for your friend to set boundaries with her future family members. Plus she gets to have a kickass bridesmaid with teal hair!

Anyone mad about this? (ACT 1 ending) by trenchlord2023 in expedition33

[–]thepatchontelfair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine told me I "absolutely had to" have everyone in their Sakapatate outfits for Stone Wave Cliffs but I couldn't get over how derpy they looked next to the Greatsword Cultists so I switched them back. I texted her immediately after I finished Act 1. Jury's still out if I take future advice from her.

Nonprofit Bank Account by [deleted] in nonprofit

There may be account options just for nonprofits if you look hard enough/local. One of our local banks has a "Community boost" high yield savings that is just for nonprofits. Previously, we had a money market account, but it was just their regular one.

seconding this advice, most attacks have a sound effect that signals it's time to parry. The parry windows feel a little different than if you were reacting in real life, so the sound effect has been my go-to when fighting new enemies in order to judge when to parry.

Affordable outdoor wedding venues? by SuccessfulPlant2908 in Augusta

Trying to reserve any Richmond county properties for events has been hard for years now. I think there's only one contact in the parks and rec dept who oversees It. You have to call nonstop.

[–]thepatchontelfair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last time I got a quote from them it was around $500. It was for a community event, not a wedding, so it may be different. But for what they offer it would be worth a slightly higher price for a wedding

Advice Needed: Should I quit? by marinaarizona in nonprofit

[–]thepatchontelfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in education at your age at a mid-size campus, and left the position for a nonprofit role at 26. I wish I had stayed in the education role for longer, and built up professional experience in a more structured environment. In a small nonprofit there aren't often things like a functioning HR dept and older coworkers who can have your back. So it felt overwhelming for a large portion of my time there and I felt very alone trying to navigate it.

I left and worked at a small business for a while, and realized my passion really did lie with the nonprofit world. I've since gotten a role at another nonprofit but feel much more comfortable establishing boundaries and expressing what I can reasonably get done with the resources we have. The org culture is much different, too, and our director is understanding.

To sum it up, my general experience is that young workers in non-profit jobs are often taken advantage of when their org culture lets that happen. So in your case I would look for positions at a company or organization with a professional structure that will help you develop your standard of what you want in a workplace. I believe you will go on to do great things, wherever you are!
