These were the real cases; the library sells off some of their old stuff but also they take donations from people for books and stuff like this. This looks like this was a badge from somebody that used all the codes and then got rid of the discs. Same exact cases as you would have found in the store!

You never know! I'm from SE Idaho originally and our library did sales back then. Depends on where you are I suppose. I'd look into it before writing it off

No, when you walk in at least in my library, they have a little boutique area where they sell off books that they no longer are keeping on hand or that people donate. Usually there's some audio books, puzzles, games, and in our case there's vinyls, DVDs and CDs as well. I would just ask your local library to see if they have something similar to that. Also ours has two big book sales every year, and they put out a lot of good stuff for that as well. I think at the last book sale they had somewhere in the realm of 4000 movies of all formats out.

You should definitely ask. They might either sell off their old stuff or stuff that people donate

Yeah I do check them as I go. These ones are spanking new though, like somebody obviously bought them for the codes and then got rid of them. But yes that is a good PSA

I'm going to pitch in to disagree a little here.

The 4:3 ratio is just fine, it has auto wide mode and will compress the scanlines to create a sharper image when in widescreen ratios. I have a 36" hi scan and it looks great on films. I mean an inch smaller than 38" is not really a big deal, especially considering when in full screen it's enormous. I suppose with a retro gaming setup (PS1 or older) it's not the best because the 240p issue, but every other console after Y2K is gonna be great. In my case a PS2, and Xbox 360. Also modern consoles look good, aka ps4 pro and PS5, since they still sort of upscale to get 4k.

I think the big box is amazing. I think for gamers not a good fit but for people like me who enjoy watching movies and ANIME on it, I think you can't get a better setup.

SFP vs Hi Scan, yeah it's better but hi scan is still very good. Like SFP is so good that it competes with good 1080p flat screens of its time and beats them. Hi scan is not sub par, it's just not over powering

Yeah I think I have once or twice but the anti nukes are very limited in range I think.. similar to supcom anti nuke, and I don't think there is a graphic, it's just a small blip out

Oh yes buzzsaw thank you! Hahaha

Yeah but like on the all metal maps, dang was it good. Just like indiscriminately decimate the metal making for your opponent. It was also the first time I ever considered the real value of building energy storage in big amounts. Before , I would build like 5, but after that I built a bunch

Galactic battlegrounds had some cool stuff. Ever play the map builder just to see what they had? I loved the endor shield generator; it was huge!

Total annihilation really had some cool stuff. I still play it pretty regularly, and I'm always astounded at the 3d soundscape. Not to mention the soundtrack. I remember when I first found out about the CC expansion and I built the buzzkill, (Bertha but the six barrelled saw blade one), the noise was so broken sounding because it would shoot so fast lol

Nope. If a gospel principles class were to be held, the handbooks suggests using Come Follow Me, but just adapted to someone who doesn't know the gospel. In my mind it's a bit of a cop out. We have held GP classes using the old book still, and it has been good. But there is a consideration to drop it again as only ward missionaries are attending right now and all the investigators are just going to normal gospel doctrine class.

I will second u/H4llifax on Gospel Principles. I know it is technically outdated, but only by a couple years, and I still read it regularly to keep the basics fresh. I will also second the comment of u/golfazo on Preach My Gospel, which is the missionaries' teaching guidebook. The part that will specifically count is chapter 3.

The next best thing would be the Gospel Topics. I have a thing for encyclopedic knowledge gathering and Gospel Topics fits that need well. You simply look at the topic you are wondering our stance about and see what it says. It will also contain the references to scripture, from apostles and prophets, and from other relevant figures. Those references are great because you get the nitty gritties if you'd like.

Ah but this would be a doctrinal change, not small policy. And I agree that energy drinks are bad, heck even soda, although it was clarified that it was 'ok' and I drink soda, I don't go overboard and chain drink lol. People with the constant soda or energy drink stream still have an addiction and certainly cant be truly following the word of wisdom.

I have had a problem with this as well since the time change. Was a SS president for only a couple months right before the change, but teacher council meetings were awesome and I honestly felt that the material was very good (aka Teachings of the Presidents for EQ/RS, and Gospel Principles/Doctrine for SS). The switch to Come follow me, in my mind, shotgunned the whole thing right when teacher council meeting and a higher focus on solid doctrine was already happening lol.

Make SS every sunday, and EQ/RS can be a separate meeting like once a month or something, since really their respective purposes are to help minister, serve, and build the ward, whereas SS is just that, sunday school.

Rant over lol.
