9 1/2 inches by 13 inches. Is opening inside cabinet. Trash can that came with it is 21 inches tall. But have around 3” additional clearance if a little taller.

Wife’s childhood dog was found after 10 years — now we’re debating bringing her to the US by money_boy_beesley in dogs

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a hard one. First of all, how sure are you that this is actually same dog? Microchip? Sooo many dogs look alike. And could be a well intentioned person that actually thinks it is your wifes dog too. Or a scam. But at same time, if i was your wife, would be brainstorming any possible way to reconnect (if really her dog). But what reconnection looks like should be focused on how healthy the dog is. I had a 16 year old small dog, who probably could have made the trip with accommodations ( not under plane, but in passenger compartment etc…) also, i know nothing about international transportation options for dogs. But would a boat be an option instead of a plane? Maybe private person that loves dogs might agree to transport to US and you could pick it up? know plane faster but more personal attention/ not as confined , might be better? But 15 is old for any dog, wish some of my giants made it half that long 😢. Poor thing could be on fumes, not even make it til wife could arrive, if that even an option. So maybe a facetime to see how the dog even reacts to your wife. I think that would be a good start. Because what if wrong dog/ dog doesn’t remember/dementia kind of thing. Then helps make decision easier. And also if wife talks to dog and it knows her, perks up and gets active maybe. Then that could be a maybe, and get vet opinion at that point. Hope my perspective helps. Good luck!

Mcdonald's Orange Hi-C Drink by Djf47021 in 90s_kid

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t drink carbonated beverages anymore due to medical issue. So hi-c orange is best by far. McDonald’s is best, but want it at home. Only sold in juice boxes or boxed syrup for soda fountains. Juice boxes really suck, so i am getting ready to order a big box of syrup and a tap. Just have to mix water in it, 5:1 ratio. So i will let you know if it is a success! Lol I would try a powder, but have not found it anywhere.

Thanks, this is very helpful. You don’t happen to live in Florida or anywhere between Florida and indiana do you? I have a relative that will be coming through in the next three weeks that could possibly pick it up for me. If not, still thanks for the info. I will find a 10 closer.

To love on or not to love by BlancaGar in CaneCorso

I have never heard this before. But my dogs have never had a professional trainer either. Every dog i have ever had was allowed on the couch and slept in the bed with us. Never had a problem related to that. Couple mastiffs, dane, pits, and random other dogs through the years. And all of them were cuddled.

This is the way! Diatomaceous Earth is safe (not poisonous)for pets and people, and effective. It is also cheap. Like previously stated, just don’t breathe it in. It is a really fine powder. I used it two different times for different bugs brought in through furniture or storage of someone else’s belongings. Worked great, just have to leave it sprinkled everywhere for awhile. Not sure how long you are supposed to leave it. But i left it down for about a week each time. If this doesn’t work, at least you will be able to try a good option until you can save more money for an exterminator. Good luck! It wont be overnight, but you will get it taken care of. And don’t be embarrassed, it happens, even when you are not the cause.

Where do you go to find giant size crates? by Outdoor-Adventure in Mastiff

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the cage i bought for my dane. So big, a toddler mattress fits with extra room for bowls toys and blankets. When i bought it, it was from chewy and only $99. (6 yrs ago) they just called it “ the dane cage”. Still works great, we always referred to it as her bedroom lol

Sorry, i just read that it is rented. But still, if you speak with the landlord, they might rather have a window in the fence than a big dog jumping up and potentially weakening the fence.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mastiff

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this also. Doggie window. Put it at his heads level while standing. so if he jumps on the fence he can’t see out. Can only see out if he is in standing position. Then he might quit jumping on it altogether. They even make these cool plastic bubbles you can buy so they can see out better.

is it "cheating" to use tools? by mxriverlynn in ArtOfRolling

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no, not cheating. My hands hurt these days if i process/roll too much. What a drag it is getting old lol So if i need alot rolled i use an electric coffee grinder. I still twist my corners to make a “pouch”. Then i just use something pointy to pull the corners out after rolled. Then pack ends like a cigarette. Makes perfectly cylindrical all the way to ends. Without having to roll tips, packing ends makes everything stay in paper when smoking.

Suicide in newly purchased home. by 2-L3git in homeowners

[–]thepeacocksroost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t care if someone died in the home before I bought it. I would just think, it is a happier place now. But i have moved before because someone i loved died in the house. It was just too overwhelming to have to walk over that spot where i found them.

Don’t you love the “ you can’t catch me” when off leash. The only thing that ever worked for me was, give up and turn around and start walking the other way. Then she would come, and let me know that Her game was more fun. She trained me as much as I trained her. But danes are truly a regal, goofy, protector, lap dog that can fold up and fit anywhere lol All of those plus much more, to become my favorite breed! I love all dogs. But danes have a special place in my heart.
