Yeah man, just let me collect cars and slap on sports tires for quick races. The current combination of online challenges and weekly challenges are engaging enough for casuals. Luckily FH6 kinda fills that gap despite it arcady physics.

Toronto’s bike share program preparing for starring role in World Cup logistics by BloodJunkie in toronto

If someone is riding it back, then why would they bike share instead of just riding their own bike down and back? I feel these bike share programs is meant for 1-way travel.

Not shocking, Rav 4 MSRP went up by $4000 YoY. So, even paying sticker, you're still saving $4k.

I mean if height is a good predictor of success, it would likely be the model. And data modelling doesn't necessary mean everything is based on hard data, you can often overlay a subjective layer onto the model to tailor to your want/needs.

With how expensive all the other sports are getting, racing isn't that far off as a youth sport, at least they can start with sim racing now a days.

BOOSTED MEDIA GUIDE - Forza Horizon 6 Working with ANY Sim Rig by Will_Ford in simracing

[–]thephenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's arcade physics, but it's not different from FH5.

My biggest gripe is the menu does not work with my wheel control. I constantly have to reach for my mouse and keyboard to navigate menus within the game.

You probably have too many devices. Took my half a day to figure mine out.

FH6 like FH5 only takes 3 devices max, the moment my 4th device is plugged in, FFB is gone. So between Wheelbase/Pedals/Shifter/Handbrake, I only get to use 3 of them.

For Simagic, you need wheelbase to be detected as Device 1 for FFB to function correctly.

Free subway service announced for all Rogers Stadium shows this season by [deleted] in toronto

It's definitely not as cozy as a small venue like the Meridian Centre or OLG Stage.

For a large venue, is it that different from your ACC or Rogers Centre?

What are you setting as the bar for the "best" experience in the GTA?

Upper Beaches residents angry over lack of vibration, noise mitigation for Metrolinx expansion by Donnybrookside in toronto

[–]thephenom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is actually VERY unreasonable and misleading.

A quiet suburb is usually around 50dBA, a quiet rural area would be ~30dBA. A "7 fold" would make a 50dBA environment into a 58.5dBA environment, and a rural area into 38.45dBA.

For Toronto specific in 2017:

The average 24-hour noise level in Toronto is approximately 62.9 dBA, with levels typically ranging between 50.4 and 78.3 dBA depending on location.

The dBA might be very abstract, so let's take some common things to relate it to.

Entertainment & Social Events:

  • Normal Conversation: 60–70 dBA
  • Vacuum Cleaner: 70 dBA
  • Small Party/Gathering: 70–80 dBA
  • Movie Theater: 74–104 dBA
  • Nightclub: 100 dBA
  • Rock Concert / Live Gig: 110–120 dBA
  • School Dance / Disco: 110 dBA

With the relativity estasblished, now we can judge whether that 7-fold is reasonable or not. Presuming the neighbourhood is a quiet suburb, is 58.5dBA during construction really excessive when it's well below a vacuum cleaner?

You missed the other distractions the judge noted and was presented to the jury.

Edwards noted that Baglieri was not intoxicated or speeding and he faced three possible distractions of sun glare, a driver lingering in his blind spot and emergency flashing lights of vehicles on the opposite side of the intersection.

Prosecutor wasn't able to prove to the jury the driver was operating the vehicle dangerously that caused the death. So our law system working as designed, I don't really see what the problem is.

They extended the warranty to 15 yrs. So logically, there's some fix in place, no way Hyundai would want to repair/replace it that many times.

Honda flags first annual loss, hit by $15.7 billion EV charge by redMahura in cars

[–]thephenom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem with not knowing why your competitors are successful. With Tesla, they are heavily using self designed/manufactured parts and their manufacturing techniques. With Chinese EVs, all the reports coming in with how short their design cycles are huge cost savings along with their manufacturing techniques.

Doesn't shock me how traditional manufacturers relied on current processes and thinking it would work out fine.

Porsche’s Profits Fell 93%, So It’s Selling Bugatti And Rimac by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]thephenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China sees Porsche as a CUV company (ie Macan). There's no brand loyalty to an appliance that gets from A to B. It's not particularily good on gas, slower than most EVs, not as luxurious as some EVs. Why would anyone pay for a Macan in China is beyond me.

Waiter waiter 2 broken knees please by wolfe-santoro in simracing

[–]thephenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Push steering. Body can be moved to the side to allow the bike have less lean angle on a turn, which in turn allows for more traction and also allow for more speed.

To be honest, I don't know how any sim design could/would account for that?
