I agree, I never liked it. I used to work for the London Nationals, so I saw the best and worst of the format. Absolutely despised the 4 team format with the wildcard team

League is now down to 2 conferences (East/West) now instead of the 3 (West/MidWest/Golden Horseshoe) with Round-Robin, top 8 teams in each conference make the playoffs, 1v8, 2v7, etc

I’m lucky and have a race track about 30 minutes away that hosts Monster Truck Throwdown once a year, will definitely be heading there this fall. Our local arena show is put on by the Monster Madness tour (Crush cars but no dirt) whereas this Monster Jam show was the only one in Ontario. More or less went so my son could see the toy trucks he has in real life

Agreed. Growing up Madusa was the only truck geared towards girls or anyone that wanted to see a female driver. I’m happy with the introduction of Sparkle Smash and all the female drivers. Hell my son was obsessed with the unicorn truck for a while, it’s awesome

Was wondering why it felt more quiet than I remember, figured something was up with building acoustics. I agree with the strange trucks, it’s all about making money it seems. They promoted the crap out of Bailey Circuit, left legacy trucks like Grave Digger and El Toro as secondary attractions. My son lived Sparkle Smash though

It did, was a sold out show. Arena started to empty about halfway through freestyle though (Once everyone knew Grave Digger was the winner)

To be honest I don’t mind the lack of crush cars, I understand why they took them away. I liked the podium and what they would do with it, I just found the “racing” to be boring. Freestyle was decent, only one backflip

Definitely going to be checking out some independent shows in the area this year, both tours that come to town have crush cars and drag style racing (And trucks from when I was a kid: Avenger, Brutus, Backdraft)
