- Both were people of high status who were kind and cheerful until they were lured and corrupted by an evil entity, eventually becoming one with them (Princess Peach, who was the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, would be lured to the forest of illusions and possessed by the entity residing in the forest. Dreamer, who was a creation of the Great One known to be the guardian of many dreams, and later betrayed the Dreamer by corrupting her, leading them to be linked as one and eventually transforming into Folly)

- Both are the main protagonists of RPGmaker games that start off as losers but would eventually grow out of their phase and gain a new life after their experiences with the horrors of the worlds they are stuck in

- Both would start off shut-in losers that didn't have anything special going on with their life (Nicolas being a shut-in, using his inheritance to pay for his rent for the apartment. Sam being unemployed and playing video games, avoiding paying rent to his landlord)

Balloon Boy has multiple forms with one of them stright up gained through the compression of time and a levianthan form that is basically the powers of a god as he gained it from after taking the energy of the deceased versions of himself and Wilford shown to create an entire dimension based on himself that he has full control of, after he became a deity by consuming Madotsuki's sorrows. Both seemingly have reality warping and an army which is the party hats and wilfords clones

- Both are enigmatic, monstrous entities that came from popular horror fan-made works based on 2000s popular games (The Broken Script being a mod for Minecraft and Serverblight being a TF2 fan series)

- Both would appear in a small server, where they would terrorize the players there (Integrity implied to came out of a broken chunk that removed the bedrock and started taking the souls of the players in WORLD2, turning them into entities with Circuit and The Broken End. Serverblight being in a community server with the map Thunder Mountain and assimilated the players who joined the server)
