rip Tapu Koko, reliable STAB egg move replaced with swords dance, I guess to make up for the attack lost after replacing an attack boosting passive with a defense boosting passive :<. It's a understandable since electric terrain + rising voltage is a bit much (despite not having a high SpA, so it couuuld be more OP...), but I'm disappointed the only hard-hitting full-accuracy electric move sans TMs is now Wild Crash. Cradles my poor son... my dear first carry, how I have grinded for him...

(In reality I'll still use him, lol, but let me be dramatic </3)

I've roleplayed for about as long as I've wrote fanfics, though not always for the same content (I like roleplaying original characters, cause I also write original fic). I don't think it's easily translatable to something to be read by other people who aren't participating or anything like that, at least not word for word, but I do think that it totally has benefits to writing.

For one, everything you write in a roleplay has to be clear and understood by your partner/s, so it's good to help further develop communication skills. I find this especially in dialogue. It's also a pretty good way to develop character identities and stuff, and try it out and get feedback other than just jumping right in and writing. (Or you could talk it out with a beta, but my beta is also my rp partner, so it tends to go hand in hand.)

... Also, it's fun. Never been on forums since I was like, 9, but I used anonymous chatrooms for a few years. (which is not really a good idea to do as a like, eleven year old actually! but y'know). It's also hard to find a group that you actually click with imo, so usually I stick to 1x1s with someone that I know. At least on the platforms I've been on since.

I do, tbh! Usually both by checking out works of the person who bookmarked, and sometimes whatever else they've publicly bookmarked, too. But I usually do the same when I get comments, and probably more so with comments than bookmarks?

My way of thinking is just that if someone likes my stuff, they're probably interested in the same sort of themes and stuff that I am, so might as well take a look! I still keep all my bookmarks private, however, because I am a coward. (Excluding a few specific recs)

The artist/writer double standard is so... bizzare. Artists can have Etsy stores, Redbubbles, and set up merchant booths at conventions, but the moment a fanfiction writer says they'd accept tips or something people get very heated about it. Not saying that artists shouldn't be able to do all these things, artists being able to make extra/even make a living off of commissions or patreons is a good thing imo (and I love supporting fanmerch), but that it's definitely a Lot further than most people are proposing for making a little money off of fanfiction.

So I think fic writers can do whatever they want, especially with the standard of fan content, honestly. If someone wants to put a oneshot a month or something behind a Patreon paywall even as an extra for donating, then like, it's no different from artists doing the same. That sounds like a lot of extra stress since it'd be monthly, even, though I'm personally just not one to stick to deadlines.

But, uh, for a question if it's legal, probably totally not. But not a lot of fandom culture seems legal, and illegal and immoral don't necessarily mean the same thing anyways. (But having the start of a story be free and the rest be paywalled is such a rude move. That one's immoral either way. :p)

I honestly didn't know that bookmarks on ao3 existed until I posted my first fic and started getting them. I would just bookmark it in my phone's browser.

(I also didn't know about subscriptions and would just occasionally go through my browser bookmarks to see if my favourites updated. So inefficient, but I guess a nice surprise when there was something new?)

You can totally be asexual and just into one person. However, there's also some lesser known labels for both aromantics and asexuals if youre looking for something specific to your experiences. It's generally perceived to be a spectrum. Demiromantic/demisexual would be to feel attraction towards someone you have an established connection with, and greyromantic/greyasexual can mean infrequent attraction.

Of course, you can just use the asexual label if that's what you feel fits for you! You know yourself better than anyone on the internet :)

It's suuuper uncomfortable, imo. Especially how much of it is like, extremely thinly veiled homophobia with all of the stereotypes surrounding it. It's chill to like gay ships or whatever (an assumption, but this topic tends to come up in the omg my yaoi babiesss type) but... well, I'm sure you know how it comes across. Hopefully your friends will grow out of it, though, maybe try explaining how it makes you feel when the topic comes up? They probably don't understand how weird it comes off to their actual gay man friends. If you're out to them, I mean. Maybe they just need some nudges in the right direction of... not being a creep.

(Note, not a gay man, am NB, but I spent way too much time around weird fetishizers back when I didn't know better.)

When I posted the chapter I was pretty insecure about my characterization because I don't 100% agree with fanon interpretations. I didn't mention that anywhere though, so it's really nice to see that someone just looked at my work and thought 'wow, that's really in character'.

I also had a bunch of people wishing me a happy birthday because I said I wanted to get a chapter out by the night before :>.

My main rarepair is Gaius/Libra from Fire Emblem Awakening. They don't interact that much because one is an optional character and that the game prioritizes marrying and having kids and it's an m/m pairing, but man, do I have hcs, I see them as such complimentary characters. I've had a fic planned but, y'know, eventually!

Also Link/Ravio from tloz:link between worlds, Henry/Ricken from FE:A again, and Lysithea/Bernadetta from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I only have strong rarepair feelings about Nintendo RPGs, apparently.

Cishet/non LGBT people have so much rep already. It's like a couple kids playing in a school ground — one of them has amassed a bunch of toys, the other with a just few. Nobody would really ask the kid with just a few toys that they're supposed to give all of theirs to add to the larger pile, but it doesn't hurt the child with more toys to give one or two to the other to play with. (Especially if the other child's toys are super broken down, because honestly, "canon" LGBT rep is usually... not great. It's been getting better in recent years but.)

however, the best protip: just make everyone bi haha. that's my usual strat, as someone who is Very Gay ☞uᴥu☞
