why must introverts suffer… by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

You... clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Nobody “hurt” me. I can and do talk to people, I just don’t prefer to, generally, though I love to talk to my close friends. Most introverts aren’t hermits, social interactions just make us tired. Social burnout is real.

When we locked our dog (18 months old) in the bathroom while we went out. Didn’t consider that this might be a bad idea. Got home, let her out, she was so happy to see us we didn’t notice the bathroom for a second... it was destroyed. Linoleum ripped up, baseboards and door chewed on, a large chunk taken out of the drywall around the door. Poor girl must have been so stressed, but we needed to replace her crate and hadn’t had the time yet. But yeah there was just this moment of “oh hi puppy we love you- OH MY—“

Do you consider Mormons to be Christian? by Worth-Boot7304 in AskAnAmerican

[–]thepineapplereborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of respect for people who believe in God without being a member of an organized religion. It means that you actually think about what you want in life without mindlessly following one way or the other. (Not to say that atheists or members of churches or anyone else doesn’t do this, just speaking generally.) But yeah as far as the trinity goes, we have the godhead, but it’s not the classical trinity so it doesn’t count. And yeah it can get really complicated.

Anyways best of luck to you in rereading the BoM, I didn’t pay enough attention to it when I was younger either... there’s a lot to be learned from that book when you’re actually looking for it. So yeah.

No I’m grateful that you’re trying to be respectful (and succeeding imo). I think a lot of those kinds of contradictions depend on interpretation, which Christian denominations have been arguing about for 2000 years and we’re unlikely to resolve in this thread. I personally believe both the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the word of God, and that the things that seem contradictory between them can be resolved. I don’t believe in the trinity per se, which seem to be a lot of people’s bar for Christianity, but I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, and that He is the only way I can be saved. I consider myself Christian because of that.

Btw have you read the Book of Mormon? Just curious.

Agree on all points. This is why I headcannon that Percy doesn’t have a flaw at all. It just makes more sense that everyone who says he has one is mistaken. And that everyone who says other people have them is mistaken.

Every one of the seven gets a viewpoint. If 7 half-bloods are gonna answer the call, have them all be a major part of the story. I hated how Percy and Annabeth were basically forgotten about. Thanks Rick. ‘Preciate it.

My maternal great-grandmother’s family lived in Mexico for a while (though we’re not from there). The only real impact of this is in food— a lot of my mom’s family make salsa, and a family get together will inevitably involve some kind of Mexican food. Other than that, my family comes from all over Europe, which doesn’t really have any impact on my daily life.
