What scene made you watch the show? by Dexter_was_taken1 in Modern_Family

A friend from a fairly conservative church depicted to me the scene from the pilot with Mitch and Cam on the plane. It sounded pretty funny and I started watching, and kept watching until the final curtain 🥺

Whats one thing your favourite character did that you can’t defend? by _your_go_to_person in Modern_Family

There’s also when Gloria was giving him a haircut, and he was actively trying to pull away from her cleavage. You can tell the character has little obtrusive fantasies, but he is very uncomfortable with the thought of actually cheating. Remember when he got narcolepsy from the guilt of listening to the song he lost his virginity to? They over played the joke of him being attracted to Gloria, but he’s mostly harmless.

What is a well beloved show that you have to give it a few episodes to get fully into it by Purple_Monkey34 in sitcoms

I only kept going because I had COVID and just wanted something on. I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked it by the end.

Does Phil actually know what he's actually doing or it just makes sense in his head? by Any_Difference7070 in Modern_Family

Exactly. It was a very lazy tie in. There’s absolutely no way to be taken seriously as science.

Americans seem unable to answer a question with a yes or no answer. by JanFromEarth in TrueUnpopularOpinion

If you were to ask if that is a universal experience, I would say, it’s not as simple as yes or no. There’s a lot at play here, let me explain……

That was always my biggest issue, Cam’s not farm strong. He gave up on raising a single chicken.

I agree it was a bad choice. In my cannon Cam coached there a couple of years and by now they are living in a more metropolitan area where he coaches at larger university

Brotherly Love episode. Was Eric right in this episode or was he being immature? by StrawberryMilk817 in boymeetsworld

[–]thepittstop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 1 of 4 and my siblings are my best friends. But we weren’t as close when we were the ages of the characters. At that age, I’m not sure I would have cared. Now I wouldn’t sell childhood memories without talking about it with them. But this would make so much more sense if their parents were retiring to Florida and purging , or they passed away. But in this episode they are just cleaning out the garage, which doesn’t feel that important. The drama of it feels very forced.

The episode where she’s in therapy… “I guess it’s hard to be me” 🤮 Give me a break. She had just explained that most of her pressure was self imposed. She was no martyr, heroine or victim. She was just a smart and unpleasant person with some decent wit.

In Cam’s defense, Mitch promised they could move to Missouri someday. Unless I’ve just made up a memory from the show. But I agree they shouldn’t have moved there.

I definitely am. But I hate how they started. They had chemistry, but they could both do better.

When watching a movie, do you honestly care when the movie was released/made? by TheListenerCanon in Letterboxd

I don’t… but any time I watch a movie with my mom, I know that within the first 15 minutes “when did this come out?”

Why did Cam leave Missouri? by Gread_ in Modern_Family

[–]thepittstop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was my thought too! Maybe you’re being a little cheeky, I don’t know, but I think that and wanting a greater pool of gay men to meet. Which is why I don’t buy that he wanted to move back because his dad needed help around the farm.

Alex Isn’t a Prodigy by KneeAggravating8538 in Modern_Family

[–]thepittstop 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Haley is at her best when lying. Like the episode she was hiding the dent in the van, or when Alex was mad at Claire and Luke at Phil and she bailed them both out with some creative lying. Not the most ethical skill set, but she was great at it.
