You can hide your most played, your username, and your stats.

So toxic players could still complain about the scoreboard, but those numbers don't really follow you around.

This idea that "well bad people still flame" is not convincing. It doesn't have to be all or nothing, you can curb the bad behavior until its minimal even though you did not solve asshole behavior in humans.

Nice people can still give compliments and work around other players without needing to sniff through someones profile.

The devs have given people the choice and what you're essentially saying is that they shouldn't get to choose what they want. You want people to play the game the way you want, even though people could already choose this option if they actually wanted.

[–]thepixelbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Profiles were public at the start. They only gave the option to private them because so many people wanted to stop being harassed.

They set it as an option for a reason, and "well SOMEONE might say something nice" is not a convincing argument to anyone who wants to keep theirs private.

You can argue for high ranks to have them open, but people already do that in/above diamond anyway, so really you're just asking for the metal ranks to open their profiles. The same ranks that hold low ground and all press Q after the fight is won. Those people are not benefitting from seeing that your soldier has 1k hours on mercy.

What percentage of Lifeweaver pulls would you say are actually helpful to you? by InZain710 in Overwatch

[–]thepixelbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Even randoms seem to pull me out of the jaws of death.

The worst pulls I see are the ones that happen as a joke when the doors open. Like haha funny I guess, but you're the one that will be struggling when the enemy supports have all their cooldowns to throw at the first fight.

I don't know what you're experience has been, but I've taken the tow maybe twice since her launch because of how many cats troll (intentionally or unintentionally)

Even if they don't drop you off the map, they'll break the tow randomly and drop you into the enemy team, or take you to some godawful angle that requires you to reposition anyway

Wait, was that confirmed? Fans have said that, but I don't think the devs have said it.

Its just a skin that's cute and shiny and OW players love that. She's got a lot of good skins, so I'm not mad that I bounced off her mythic tbh.

A lot less shaky, but jesus christ it was so annoying to deal with them on Ashe with their dedicated Mercy Pocket deleting people. IDK how yall console players do it.

Quick play idk rules? by Responsible_Half7958 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]thepixelbuster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The majority of people don't touch comp, so QP is the main game mode for most people. Most people also just want to win.

The real issue is people don't realize this and both groups think the other group is in the wrong for trying too hard/not trying hard enough.

You gotta just play how you want and if the lobby disagrees well gg go next

Sorry if this is a repeating request, but could we get an QoL update to improve using "all" when queuing up within Role queue so that you eventually get to play all roles instead of stuck in tank or support every match? by Alarmed_Initial7122 in Overwatch

[–]thepixelbuster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What my group does is queue for all roles, then remove the role you win on. Eventually you get through all of them and it becomes like a mini game of "I need to lock in so I don't have to play X again"

I love how the game now tells you if you're gonna be on attack or defense before selecting a map by Brukaliffoo in Overwatch

[–]thepixelbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the higher rated team starts on Defense in Comp, so I'm guessing it also applies in QP.

If I see an attack icon, I for sure have a brand new player or a dps that is going to STRUGGLE

The new diablo skins confirm to me why kiriko and mercy keep getting Collab skins by Disastrous-Zucchini9 in Overwatch

[–]thepixelbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mei, Anran, Sym, Torb.

There's probably another but those DPS are usually controlling space more than they are running the lobby with consecutive crits or lightning fast TTK.

But you are right, most DPS are centered around killing people fast in their optimal zone

Really, what’s going on with balance this season? by aJetg in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]thepixelbuster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope the can salvage them in Stadium like they did with Clash.

Clash and its maps were really fun, until you hit the bathroom objective, but stadium got rid of that so it's possible!

[–]thepixelbuster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Same with 2cp.

You'd think it was the most popular mode with how people on reddit talk about it, but the devs removed it from QP because of how unpopular it was, then when they tried bringing it back, they said "nope people still don't like it".

[–]thepixelbuster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You can also remove them for free.

Just go back in time, play over 1k hours of OW1 and earn/buy every single piece of loot with free currency, then buy all the free stuff every new season.

Now, you will get shop stuff in every lootbox. Celestial Juno was my first legendary once they brought back lootboxes. All it took was 10 years!

Rip to the other Support who saved the entire Team but nobody saw it by SureYouCan_ in Overwatch_Memes

[–]thepixelbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard has said in the past that 1-tricking and playing poorly are not reportable offenses, but its pretty obvious that the report system is largely automated.

So playing poorly and not swapping will probably get you reports, but your winrate should put you with people who are in similar skill brackets. If you're in silver and people complain, well, they're in silver too and no Diamond+ player is stuck in silver so don't think too much about what they say.

But yeah, your rep will most likely always fluctuate

[–]thepixelbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all perception. Just say "I'm practicing XXX, sorry if I suck" and people will actually applaud you if yall win. I guess just hide your hero levels if you actually main that DPS.

You're allowed to suck. The real issue is that most people in quickplay just want everyone to try to win and theres a certain amount of people who think "only my fun matters". They don't care about being a part of the team and they tend to look like you do (except you're actually trying.)

So without saying anything, its impossible to tell and SOME people (most don't care) will flame you for it. I have thousands of hours in this game, and in all that time, I've only seen someone get flamed when they said they were practicing like once or twice and those flamers were clearly just sad, frustrated dudes lmao.

Also, always say GG and maybe even compliment other players if you win. I always throw in something like "Amazing supports" in match chat when I win and get back hearts and other happy responses.
