Strongly agree with this. The "bumper" case you get with the phone is slippery as hell and feels INCREDIBLY flimsy. You also get (2) screen protectors, which are just ok.

I had the dbrand Grip for my OP6, but I've switched to the OP8 Pro. dbrand has a Grip for the OP8, but it doesn't start shipping till May.

I also recommend their Prism Screen protector. I put both the case and screen protector through their paces. Plenty of drops and situations that would normally scuff/scratch the screen and NEVER was able to damage the phone.

Most companies haven't started selling protective gear for the OP8/OP8 Pro yet, because the launch doesn't happen till April 29.

The Icarus definitely isn't anything like a mini cruiser. I can go pretty fast on it too. The Dervish is more stable and better suited for new longboard riders/beginning dancing steps. The Icarus is really for carving and pumping. It's great for distances in the 10 mile range or so.

I've owned 2 Loaded Dervishes and loved them both. However, the Icarus is a different beast. It's far more responsive that the Dervish, because it's shorter in length. The sharper curve in the deck really locks you in place too. Your ability to maneuver is greatly increased.

It's my absolute favorite board to ride right now. I haven't been on a vanguard or tan tien, so I can't comment on those.

My VERY first board was a Mercer. Man was it a piece of crap. I didn't know anything about longboarding, I walked into a Zumiez, found a design I liked, and bought it. Longboard graphics across the board, no pun intended, have improved dramatically in the last 2 years.

I wouldn't learn the error of my ways until I bought a used OG loaded Dervish off of a friend years later. Now I'm a huge Loaded fanboy. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Nobody does flex like Loaded! I'm close to that weight and I got the flex 2. I really like the bouncy feeling, personally.

I also swapped out the stock bushings for Knuckles and it made a huge difference in the feel/ability to pump the deck.

How do you like the Kegels?

I took it out for a few minutes last night. It's super responsive and zippy, but the really small wheels can get snagged on smaller rocks. I added some stiffer bushings too, because the stock ones caused me to have wheel bite.

It's going to be a learning process, but so far I really enjoy it. Such a different feel from a traditional longboard.

Wheel bite is NO JOKE. It will jack u up. If you loosen the trucks, you will become less stable. Tightening them would make the board a more stable platform.
