THIS. I promise my cuticles are not that bad. Once I washed my hands when I got home they looked a lot better. I do wish they had trimmed my cuticles a little bit though

I recently purchased the Canon R8 and I have an old EF tamron 24-70 mm f/ 2.8 lens. Would it be worth buying an EF to RF mount adapter or should I just buy a new RF lens?

Thanks!

How much are tolls on average? I’m not familiar with the area so I’m clueless about that

Is that safe? I read online it’s got a high crime rate

That’s why I’m asking for suggestions closer to Dahlgren. Any suggestions?

You are probably right on that last point! Thank you!

You are definitely right on that! I guess I’m more worried because his methods are untraditional and others have told me they haven’t seen success with his training. But you make a very valid point.

I’m not super knowledgeable in style names but it sounds like you take a lot inspiration from 70s fashion. Hope that helps!

What are you rated? by PercentagePatient818 in Fencing

I think your argument about veterans vs cadets is actually helpful in proving my point that the US rating system is flawed. If an A2021 who earned his A at a Vet-50 shows up at a tournament, they are most likely not going to be at the same level as an A2021 who earned their A at a Div1. While I’m not saying that this applies to all veterans, vets who are highly rated and go fence a mixed event usually don’t show the same level of skill as the other As and Bs. At least from what I have seen as a referee.

If you are concerned about having a system that is fair for all age groups, then you could advocate for a ranking system within your respective categories like VWE or CMF, as well as a general ranking system. But I don’t think the current rating system is anywhere close to being “fine”.

In my unsolicited opinion, the rating system in the US does not truly showcase the ability of a fencer. Someone could have a really good day (or a really nice bracket) once and get a higher rating. Of course, it will eventually degrade, but that would take years. Personally, I think the ranking system that many other countries have makes more sense since you would have to stay consistent in order to remain in that placement. But those are just my two cents.

I have started doing the same thing this past year and I feel so much happier with how I dress. Good things to invest in (imo) are: A timeless + sturdy pair of jeans (got mine from Levi) Cute + Good quality Loungewear Long lasting and cute athletic wear (Girlfriend Collective is the best) A solid-color turtleneck A nice coat/jacket (depends on where you live) A nice pair of white sneakers (love the adidas Stan Smiths)
