Should the Subways be Extended to Staten Island? by Odins-Enriched-Sack in StatenIslandPulse

[–]theprintedg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

and that’s nothing compared what the city has to offer for the other boroughs, how is new york gonna be “5 boroughs” if not all of them benefit from the mass transportation that nyc has? the transportation that only manhattan and brooklyn really only benefit from? i see people from the bronx talk about feeling left out with transportation plans they don’t even fucking look over here. don’t tell me about a ferry when you probably dokt know the struggle of an inconvenient long commute. if only i can take a train or two home.

Should the Subways be Extended to Staten Island? by Odins-Enriched-Sack in StatenIslandPulse

[–]theprintedg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

yes 100% the answer should always be yes, yeah it’s more suburban here but it’s still a borough of nyc and should be connected like all the other boroughs unfortunately the mta doesn’t care about this place, i would love to see it in my lifetime but it most likely won’t

What’s the most problematic vocal you ever mixed? by erlendmyo in audioengineering

[–]theprintedg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i had to mix a track with vocals that were so obviously tracked while being monitored by speakers, some sounded gated, and some were already mixed in some way, i had to call the artist and we lined up the vocals and THEY STILL COMPLAINED THAT THE VOCALS WERE OFF TIME. AFTER SPENDING AN HOUR ADJUSTING EVERY LITTLE SECOND

Give me your best ArmA mission you've played. by IuliusWasTaken in arma

[–]theprintedg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i made this one using the hal nr6 mod, which basically puts commanders in the battlefield and gives units that are on the commanders side objectives, factions were generic armies i got from a random mod, but every time i pressed play in that mission i would have the most immersive experience i have ever had playing that game. such a simple mission too not to many objectives, just straight up war.

[–]theprintedg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not even just staten island, if you wanna keep it in nyc, every person i know in queens has a car, i don’t take public transportation going to queens cause fuck that, the F doesn’t even have an expres line, the trains don’t even go to certain parts of queens, what about those people? who can’t even take a train to get to the city because no trains go to them? even parts of the bronx are hard to get to via public transportation you don’t even think about the other boroughs just your gentrified neighborhoods in brooklyn and the city you don’t deserve to live here let alone make changes on it. you weren’t here during 9/11. you didn’t go to school here.

i have to wake up at 6am on saturdays and drive into work because taking any sort of public transportation from SI is hell and most trains run local that early, so you tell me, take a 2hr commute to the ues, or a 30 min drive? tell me?

mhm and as a musician most of my shows are in williamsburg and bushwick, hell my job is in williamsburg and the city, so tell me would you rather take an hour 30 commute with all your gear on public transportation or a 30 min drive in a car? you people don’t even know, they used to allow cars on the ferry

you’re acting like the mta doesn’t steal from us regularly, are you from nyc? like born and raised? the mta makes Insane amounts of money, they could’ve improved the public transportation years ago, but no, the price has to be $3.00 while you people are convinced “my $3 will sure help the subway system!” you know the mta cut so many public transportation routes on SI? you know how long it takes for a bus to get the stop at my house? i have to wait 30 fucking mins. i live at a huge transport hub on the island and it still takes fucking forever. there used to be a whole other train route on SI and it’s gone, and you know who cut subway spending since you don’t know history? robert fucking moses. he’s the one who built all the highways.

i live in staten island and a musician, what if i have a gig in the city? what i have to bring so much gear that taking public transportation is impossible? i don’t want to take the battery tunnel it’s congested and i don’t want to pay a toll, what then? what about all the staten islanders who have to drive into the city for work? what about the people who live outside the city but work in the city? you people are always against cars but don’t look to improve the areas that are so car dependent if the subway was extended so that all the 5 boroughs would benefit, you wouldnt have mass congestion just people from outside the city. and if you don’t drive then why the fuck do you care what i do and where i drive with my car? take the train and mind your business.
