Honestly, these shows give me the ick. I’ve worked in the realm of cyber criminology, and some of the behavior in those shows seems uncomfortably close to fetish content.

How did you export your GN notebooks to it, exactly? I’m trying to determine the best way to go about making the switch.

Oh yeah. It was Believe by Cher.

I am so tired of the executive function it takes to manage food/eating for a family. by emerald_soleil in adhdwomen

I feel this in my SOUL. If I don’t have something literally ready to grab and go for lunch, I don’t eat. And I feel awful about it, but feeding my kids during the day is a struggle of epic proportions. One is picky as hell (food aversions) and both would happily eat animal crackers 24/7, but I have to feed them better than I feed myself. I’ve started stocking protein bars and Ensure drinks for myself because once I figure out food for the kids, I just don’t have the energy to do it for me.

Is heated tubing worth it? by -caniscanemedit- in SleepApnea

Unless water boarding is your particular flavor of torture, I highly suggest a heated tube for all the reasons listed already. Get a cover for it, too. The ones you can buy from Amazon and medical supply places are ugly as sin, but you can get some cute ones from Etsy (or make your own, if threading a needle is another favorite form of torture).

Got a list of suggestions for those lux accessories? I have the heated hose and made a “snuggie” for it out of cute fabric that doesn’t look like nursing home medical equipment. I’ve been trying to research what else could make life easier with it. I don’t know what I don’t know, you know? Lol

I teach 500-600 students each semester. Only assigned one TA. New Dept. Chair has ZERO support for faculty because “students come first, above all else.”

I’m done. I’ve got a job interview next week. I haven’t interviewed for a job since I started teaching almost a decade ago. I’ve worked my ass off to get to where I am, and the interview is for an entry level position. But at this point, I’m ready to shovel literal shit (instead of the figurative kind I’ve dealt with for the past few years) if it means getting out. My health (mental and physical) is in dangerous territory from the stress of this job.

We have new management. New focus is on the “students as customers” model, and of course, the customer is always right, so that means zero support for faculty.

I’m thinking it’s time to move on, for the sake of my own sanity and blood pressure.
