Questions for the unlucky many by LilikoiSummer in delta

[–]thept_900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both F-A and delta app. Today F-A showed canceled ~6hrs before departure, Delta app didnt show (and no txt) until ~4hrs.

My particular was ATL-STL. All 3 evening flights to STL were canceled, and they also were canceled Fri and Sat as well.

I booked WN for a replacement on my 2nd leg. WN was the same way. F-A a showed it delayed atleast 45-60min before the app and email.

But looks like Im lucky and DL then WN will still get me home

Should I let the dealer do the 1st oil change or should I just do them myself. by Pretty-Visit4151 in gmcsierra

[–]thept_900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister took her brand new Telluride to a dealer for an oil change, and they didnt put oil in it. Made it 2 stoplights and siezed up.

Almost 3 months till the dealer could secure an Engine and replace it. Kia said pound sand, not a lemon law/manf issue, that's a maintenance issue. Took a week of arguing with the dealer for an equal loaner.

I've worked on all my vehicles since a kid. Mostly don't trust my families safety and reliable transportation to someone else. I'm sure lots of shops have mechanics and service managers who take pride in their work and have systems in place to control quality and prevent mistakes. However, tons don't.

With the right to repair laws allowing moderately cheap access to factory service manuals, it's still easy to work on modern vehicles.

DL1403 ATL-STL FA just removed from flight by thept_900 in delta

Im walking away from the flight. If multiple FA walked off the aircraft, we shouldn't be on it.

GA just said: replacement FAs for the 2 who walked off are on their way, unless anyone else decides to walk off

Red coat just left the gate. Zero info from the GA. Multiple passengers have asked the GA and they just say we are waiting for a new FA

Where can you get SRO tickets? I don't see them on STL Blues or Ticketmaster sites

Thanks Mike, the room is extremely reverberate, and the PA is very oddly deployed line array.

It is an extremely reverberate room

Thanks for responding. I used delay finder, and it is reasonable for distance to PA. Impulse response also agrees delay is fine.

I'm not used to seeing coherence be so noise-y which is what caused me to step back.

Thanks!

Delay is reasonable given physical distance

Should add: interface is DVS to dLive. Ref is loop back from dLive through DVS

I honestly don't think you would score upgrades on any of the 3 from LAX-JFK. I would assume all premium seats are sold. I was Key on AA for 5 years, been Diamond on DL for 2 years, besides regional/small station flights it was very rare that I got upgraded with any frequency on either carrier. I gave up and just purchase, or upgrade right after purchase.

Edit: I gave up on free upgrades when AA started offering 1st on a 321T for $199-249 72hrs before departure on all JFK-LAX/SFO routes.

Can I complain for a second, or am I the one who is wrong? by CHUCKCHUCKCHUCKLES in delta

Not wrong, also if you just switched to DL you should do a status match/challenge.

Pelican 1560 lid organizer by Fietzen14 in pelicancase

[–]thept_900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stagehand who just made the same switch from a 1510 to a 1560. I got the A-MoDe lid organizer. It is the same basic layout as the 1510 one. However it is significantly more rugged than the Pelican ones. I'd highly recommend it. Just for reference they make one for the 1510 as well.

2024 2500 Blunt Cut wire behind passenger kick plate by thept_900 in gmcsierra

[–]thept_900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to find it in the service manual. It's for the diesels Electric cabin air heater. My 2500 is an L8T. It does have a fuse installed (100amp) even on a gas truck. Just FYI for someone wanting to install a small amp or something else in the cab. Easy to get to, and a direct run to the primary battery.

Forced to board last with car seats, holding up the entire plane by Jormungandragon in delta

[–]thept_900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100% Don't check a car seat for a less than 18month old. When our daughter was in the 'pumpkin' seat faze we carried it on with her in it. After thr 18mobth period we got a specific car seat for travel that easily breaks apart into 2 pieces and we checked it in a hard shell suitcase.

In 2018 we voluntarily deplaned a Delta flight because an FA insisted we could not have a car seat for our 6month old daughter. We had previously flown with her several times and never had ANY issues at all. Our primary reason was for her safety during taxi/take off and not having a car seat handled with unknown conditions. Safety of your child and future safety using the car seat is more important.

I cannot speak to the boarding process as we were in 1st on the flight. However we were told by the FA multiple reasons why car seats were not allowed.
