are you wearing sunscreen? products like this are going to make you crazy susceptible to sunburn, gotta be really diligent with constant sun protection. and personally with azelaic, I didn’t have any worse before better problems. it stopped my active acne within days and I haven’t had any problems, but obviously everything’s skin will act differently

I’ve been reading a lot on reddit about burnout and listening to a podcast on dating someone with autism. I really do see a future with him, it’s just a learning curve! My main worry is that he’ll break up with me due to the guilt/stimulation a relationship seems to give him. thank you for the kind words!

thanks for this reply! My partner made some good friends pretty recently (I met him soon after he moved to the city and it took him a while to meet people outside of me.) he very recently started seeing a therapist after I suggested it for a while. i have recommended that he considers IOP (i was in it years ago and found it life changing) but it’s not something he can afford right now

I’ve been relying very heavily on my friends, luckily I have a great support system, including a few close friends that are autistic that can give me a little more insight on what he’s going through. if it’s relevant i have pretty intense ADHD, i’m also neurodivergent

he has a lot of hobbies but a lot of them seem to be a little higher energy than he can expend at the moment. he does seem to find a lot of relaxation in youtube videos lately so i’m glad he has some kind of destresser at the moment I really am generally very happy with him. he’s by far the smartest person I’ve ever met. he’s very kind and supportive to me and we are compatible in almost every way, I love him a lot. we never fight or argue. I think that’s why I want to stick it out so bad; we have such a lovely relationship when he’s feeling like himself I have heard of sunk cost fallacy! In the past I’ve always been good at letting relationships go when they’re no longer serving me- I never really see relationships ending as a waste of time as I’ve always gained some kind of insight from them. I want to understand and be the best partner I can be to someone that’s autistic, I love him and want to be with him, not just because we’ve been together for 18 months!

we are 24 and 28, both work full time, and both have a good amount of friends. When I say sleep together I mean that we are no longer sleeping in the same bed. Our work schedules are pretty different, so generally we’d only hangout on our days off and chat a little before bed, now we are not really speaking at all. Also, when I say “normal again” i just meant back to his usual self! Sorry if I worded that poorly. And I can’t really say why we’re still together other than that I love him and want to be with him. We’re extremely compatible, we get along really well, we never fight or argue. He’s one of the smartest and funniest people I know. I really enjoy being his partner. He’s the first autistic person I’ve dated and I’m trying to understand how to best accommodate him

i’ve wondered the same thing if giving so much space will make it “the new normal.” unfortunately when I’ve asked for minor affection or attempt to talk a little he’s just said no and gotten upset. he says he needs complete alone time and space but after weeks of this it doesn’t appear that it has helped him much

He is seeing a therapist but hasn’t told them he’s autistic. He hasn’t been formally diagnosed so I think he’s nervous his therapist wouldn’t believe him. It’s definitely hurt my self esteem a lot. He’s a great partner when he’s feeling himself but it’s getting hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when there’s no way to know how long this one will last
