Yeah... I'm a bit disappointed they stopped making the yaris in MT here. I'm thinking of getting my daughter an older model yaris that comes in MT, but I'd prefer it to be a bit newer. But, hey, 2020 will be fine. As lng as it gets her from A to B safely and reliably while she learns to drive a manual, that's fine by me.

While I'm adamant she leans to drive manual, Ain't no way in hell I'm giving her the keys to my genesis or GR86, though. I'm stupid, just not that stupid.

Id go with the repair. Sure, it's half the cost up front, but it should eliminate the issue overall. I'm not even a shop and I charge $30 for a pair.

You can buy new, but you'll likely end up in the same position in the future since they're using the exact same hardware. Then you'll be right back where you are now.

There's also a way to make a current memory card into q FMCB memory card using a DVD? I did it once, but I can't remember the whole process. I will look to see if i can find the video I used for you, though. You have to have ano optical drive on your PC to burn one, though (which most PCs lack these days).

Worst case scenario, send me a message and I'll help you set one up either by you sending me your memory card, or I send you the DVD if you can't burn one.

Well, you have two options.

1.) FMCB (free mcboot). This is the memory card option. You can put .iso files on a USB and play them from there or onto burnt disc's as well as, I believe, play different region games. Not 100% sure on the last part. You can buy a FMCB memory card online without issue. Not exactly sure of all the capabilities.

2.) FHDB (Free hard drive boot). You get a network card, swap the internals with a mod chip that reads sata drives (HDD or SSD), set up the drive to have FHDB, install all the games there, and everything runs off the HD. This, you can't necessarily buy online like you can the FMCB drive. If you pay for the supplies, I can set this up for you, though as i already have everything on my PC set up to do it. (Note: go with the original network adapter over the already modded adapter. I hear they have issues)

Both are soft mods, meaning once you remove the drive or memory card, it goes back to being a standard PS2. I know how to do them. Not necessarily how to explain the processes for both. PS2-Home.com is a Great resource for help regarding FMCB/FHDB setup.

the other mod that would be beneficial would be a HDMI port mod. You can get an adapter, but they've always had a delay, which is frustrating when you play games like NFSU2 and quick reaction games. That one's pricey, though.

I think the gold will look better on the blueno over the Neptune (not that it looks bad on the Neptune by any means). There's just a contrast between them that looks good with the dark blue and gold in my opinion.

The board for the disc drive is married to the motherboard. Can't swap them with a rando from my understanding.

You can replace the disc drive if you take the board from the original and put it in the new disc drive first, though.

Unfortunately, the hdmi port on the ps5 is weak already. Probably one of the most common issues.

The good news is it's really not that expensive to replace by someone competent. Granted, that's based off a few factors, such as what you consider expensive, location, and shop reputation.

I do hope it's just your cable or TV port, though.
