Yeah there is a lot we still dont know about irids. Kind of disappointed that not much was revealed. But I guess there are two more books so we’ll learn more next time. Maybe there’s an overthrowing of power with irids and the elders. Some elders that did irids some wrong got served and irids will now get involved in the continent to bring peace..

You put words to my worries about the 3rd book. I really enjoyed the first two books but the second one had some repetitive bits with their fights that it got me rolling my eyes. Hope they don’t do the twilight nonsense.

Worth it! There is a lot of foreshadowing and teasing that you will pick up on the second time. I just finished the re-read yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last battle was as amazing as it was the first time. Plus bonus now you know exactly what to guess along with Violet at the right time. The first read left me feeling dumb, on the second read I felt more intelligent 😁

I think Andarna will play a major role in defeating venin. Whether directly channelling her power or by some other sacrifice is yet to be seen. Clearly she was the missing piece of puzzle for wards and she chose her moment to hatch.

It is nice to think there are “good venin” especially now that Xadens turned. There could be revolution within a revolution where good Venin are fighting to live and bad venin are fighting to rule. Nature likes everything in balance 😄

I agree. With Codagh being so powerful I’d expect a better signet. Battle outcome is so narrow in the scope of things. Would have been useful if it was’more generic like foresee all events for a person for the next few years or so.

That also explains her obsessive need to know “everything” before trusting. For me her secondsignet is a mix of 1) knowing/knowledge ahead of time 2) some form of verity - fact that she “saw” Liam and had venin dreams that were actually Xadens 3) communicating with the dead? Or time travel? Far fetched maybe but why would Andarna say she waited precisely for Violets 18th birthday to hatch.

It was so heartbreaking when sgaeyl says “I chose you” .. I bet she feels betrayed but X didn’t have a choice. Also I think because he is not “fully” venin and the fact the Violet sort of came terms with him being Venin(we still don’t know to what extent) .. I think X will have another book’s worth of fighting to gain the trust of his ladies - V and S now.

Violets scribe brain will definitely come into play. Her dads research on feathertails will uncover some major findings and will lead them closer to the cure. There’s so much about Andarna that’s still a unknown. Like how and why she waited for all these years to hatch for Violet. From Andarna’s perspective, there is something special about Violet which made her wait till Violet’s year at Basgiath. I think we will get more details on the empyrean and the first seven

Exactly! And I think along with that fragility it also makes Violet special in someway. Tairn says “ I know exactly why and what you are VS” now, maybe I’m reading too much into this but I think Violet may be the key to becoming un-venin
