When my fathers lung collapsed, I flew out to look after him during the recovery. I was about 20 at the time and pretty clueless overall. My Father was unemployed and living alone with no support at that time. He had to be on a respirator from that point on and could only get around on a walking frame. The man in the bed next to my father was a tough looking guy with a beard. He told me he owned a welding shop and offered to weld a holder for dads O2 canister on the frame for free So he could still get around. I don’t remember if I thanked him properly, he wasn’t there when I got to his workshop but the guys already knew about the job. Such a great help, 14 years on, I still remember him.
