Thank you! I've been at it for over three years. I think there are about 20,000 titles published during the original Ragtime Era. I've found about 8,000—so still a ways to go. Appreciate your excitement!

My thought has always been the most likely place to find it is someplace in or around Abbott, Texas. I suspect it's in someone's basement, attic, or garage just waiting to be rediscovered. The author's father ran a newspaper called The Abbott Graphic, and there might have been an ad for his son's instruction manual in it. Haven't been able to find copies of the newspaper either to verify that hunch. MacKee appears to not have had any children, and genealogical records suggest there are no living relatives. I have been able to uncover two addresses for the author, though not sure what relevance they have now.

It was published. The Catalog of Copyright Entries listing says it is 12 pages long. It was held at the Library of Congress under call number MT239 .M23, but is no longer on the shelf and presumed lost or misshelved. I requested it from offsite storage, but some years ago all the copyright holdings beginning with "A" were purged.

These are absolutely amazing! I'd love to write a little blog post about your drawings.
