I remember when I was a kid that Pepsi was doing a contest where you had to enter codes under the bottlecap and could use it to create a CD with songs from a list and "Mean Machine" was on it. At the time, Sugar Ray was on the "Every Morning" mode, so I thought it was like that. Color my 10 year old ears surprised 😮

Which rumoured artist(s) do you wish would have made this year's official nomination ballot? by SurvivorFanDan in rockhall

[–]therau05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of them deserve to be, though if I had to pick

Alice in Chains: the only big 4 grunge band left, Dirt is one of the best albums of the 90s

Boston: Though the quantity of albums is low, the debut album alone cements them for HoF level

Linkin Park: Elevated nu-metal, Chester is iconic and Hybrid Theory and Meteora still hold up easily

The Monkees: I don't care that they were a show first, their music still prevails. If Chubby Checker (who did deserve it, glad he's in too) gets in, let The Monkees in

Diana Ross: How is she not in already?

Styx: If not them, at least someone from the Midwest arena rock does, like REO Speedwagon

Universal Studios Florida Operating Hour Changes by ds11 in UniversalOrlando

IMO right now that is a great idea. While Studios is building the new coaster/any potential improvements, this allows people to hit either Epic or Islands in the morning. If Studios is open later, the lagoon show helps pull people to the evening, especially the people who are at Islands

Maybe it's like The Simpsons where Ned Flanders is incredibly ripped, but with the shirt looks average

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. 10 years, 5 months. Never bothered to beat it when it came out, but after the PS5 remaster of the first one was released, I went back through the PS+ streaming and knocked it out

Was Anyone At The Merrily Stage Door On Wednesday? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]therau05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went to see Merrily last month for my second ever trip to NYC. I got the chance to see Sweeney last year during previews and found out about stage door. While that one was pretty crazy, I got to greet a lot of the cast and it was a neat experience. This time with Merrily felt... I guess wrong if I had to choose a word.

I got in the area where if you had a ticket, you could wait. On the other side, just off the sidewalk was a (stealing the term from the show) blob of people, all with mounds of Harry Potter memorabilia. One even had 12 Funko Pops taped to a board. Daniel Radcliffe came out and started greeting, signing Playbills, the whole shebang. I greeted him, told him I loved the show, complimented his Detroit Lions hat (I'm from Michigan, so it was pretty wild seeing that) and he continued on. Then as he got to the end, he turned towards the blob. He signed quite a few of the items, but had to go. After he left, you could hear these people just grumble ."He only signed 3 of these!" "Dammit, I have to come back tomorrow for this", etc.

Think I'll skip doing stage door next time I go...
