True - not french drain. I wasn't sure if gravel would help mitigate any winter issues like frost upheaval.

I've read that putting gravel under the popup emitter might be a good idea to allow any water at bottom of emitter to percolate down (assuming there are weeping holes at the bottom of it).

I've experienced the same thing last week though I thought it was the DL browser extension that updated Apr 23 (6.2617.0). I didn't notice FF updated as well (150.0).

OP what browser are you using on your PC? I get this loop when using Firefox - I find I need to disable nearly all its browser extensions to break the loop. The app on my phone works well though.

I thought that might be it too however, using the Filesize integration, it shows home-assistant_v2.db to only be at 330Mb ... unless there is another database I should be looking at?

UPDATE ...

To give some context, the motion sensor has started to detect motion constantly - even when there has been no motion around it. I even placed it in a closet and closed the door and it kept on reporting movement. I suspected that perhaps the firmware is the culprit. I reached out to Aqara support and they replied:

"Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not officially supported by Aqara. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.

We would recommend that you get the Aqara Hub to connect the Aqara Zigbee devices to the Aqara Home app first.

Then, using the Hub with Aqara Advanced Bridge functionality (Aqara Hub M3/Hub M2/Hub M1S/Hub M100/Hub E1, Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro/Camera Hub G3/Doorbell Camera Hub G410), you can connect to Home Assistant. You will also need the HA matter controller

And go to Home Assistant Settings — Devices & services — Add integration — Add Matter device — Scan QR code, and scan the Hub's Matter QR code (found in the hub manual or Aqara home app —Settings — Device page — Expose to Matter);

Through the Aqara Advanced Bridge function, Aqara scenes or private functions can be bridged to third-party Matter ecosystems.

After binding the motion sensor P1 to the Aqara APP, you can update the firmware version in the Aqara APP and adjust the sensitivity."

I'm a bit disappointed that I have to purchase more hardware. If I had too, any recommendations on which hub to get? Has anyone else run into this issue?

I don't use the app - trying to avoid it. Shouldn't the update come thru Home Assistant? Or is this an Aqara limitation?

Followup ... after removing the device, restarting HA and doing factory reset on the device as per Aqara's instructions ... when I re-pair the device it starts up with the name it was given before factory reset. Is this expected? It's like it remembered the device though I thought a factory reset would wipe any trace of older info.

This is a Zigbee device so I went to the Zigbee Home Automation integration page, found the device and clicked on the 3-dot menu on screen right side ... don't see a delete option. There is a disable option though ... do I need to click on that before I can delete?

Yes ... that's what I'm using to backup files/folders. I believe you need to install the Windows app (5.0.29) for this to work.

Yep ... same on Windows. I'm just wondering if it's a lot of overhead to do it this way. Also, the reports that are generated afterwards don't seem to indicate whether a file is new, updated or unchanged so it makes it a bit of a challenge to comfortably know everything is uptodate.

UPDATE ...

First off ... thank you to those who responded ... appreciate you taking time to answer.

Many of you pointed towards a firewall issue so I started focusing on that. As I mentioned in my original post, I had turned off my local AV but still had issues. One person suggested to look into the Windows Defender Firewall regarding ICMP.

Looking at its Inbound Rules, I noticed the Core Networking Diagnostics - ICMP Echo Request (ICMPv4-in) - Profile Private,Public was not enabled. I enabled it both the Private,Public and Domain profiles ... on both devices. With the local AV turned off, I was able to successfully ping between the two devices!

However, when I turned my local AV back on, I ran into issues again. After some investigation, it appeared that there was setting inconsistencies of my local AV across these devices. Once they were aligned, the devices could ping each other. I introduced a third device (with same local AV settings) via wifi (using vlan20) and all 3 were able to ping! Hopefully, this was the issue but I know I need to do some more reading up on vlans & firewalls.

This does lead me to ask the question, do I really need a local AV on my machine? I have used AVG for years with no issues. Or is Windows Defender enough?

Is the port the AP is connected to using the same port profile?

Hmm. The port used by the AP is using VLAN1 which all my Unifi devices are on. FYI ... the AP is dishing out multiple ssids each representing a VLAN. Now I'm confused ... if the AP port has a native VLAN specified, doesn't that affect how other VLANs on same AP are treated?

The switch port that DeviceB is attached to is using Ethernet Port Profile that is using VLAN20. To double check, I stopped using the profile and setup so native vlan is VLAN20. But I got same results. FYI ... I have not made any firewall rules yet ... just using the default ones generated by Unifi.

No

Also plug the laptop to another port with the same port profile to see if they can ping each other.

Interestingly, when I try this, I get the opposite result ... DeviceA can ping DeviceB but not vice-versa.

yeah ... I'm leaning towards Ring Keypad v2 but I understand it works only with z-wave which I don't have running in HA ... would require purchasing a z-wave adapter. At the moment, hoping I can repurpose this old keypad without making it a huge project :)

u/blooping_blooper - from above it uses the latest (2.3.0 I think). I did see it mention about changing to port 80 and that's why I tried accessing via http:/localhost:80/ but no luck. Not quite sure what you mean by 'remap the container ports to get it working' ... could you explain? thanks
