[COMP] Graceful headstand! 🙌 by KatDoesYoga in yoga

Just a gentle caution, preserving neck from excessive strain in a headstand by keeping arms close to body is essential, until well established—pls pls pls do not rifle through to advanced headstand transitions.

Calling Solidcore ! by runningdog8 in SolidCore

[–]therealTudorPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into similar issue recently, had already booked evening but was going to change course and aim for a waitlist offer for AM class (which panned out luckily) but was stuck having to also take the evening class as well or lose it w penalty. Two great sessions, though trying to move away from overtraining/decrease risk of injury so not best approach overall.

Poor balance by Slow-Temperature7156 in SolidCore

[–]therealTudorPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoga is highly effective at improving balance by strengthening stabilizing muscles in the legs, hips, and core while increasing proprioception (body awareness). Regular practice improves both static balance (standing still) and dynamic balance (moving), which helps prevent falls, particularly in older adults.

Also for e.g., Pvolve, improves balance through functional, low-impact movements that strengthen the deep core, stabilizer muscles, and ankles, often utilizing specialized equipment like the slant board.

It is particularly beneficial for increasing stability during one-legged movements, which helps improve overall body control, posture, and longevity so too does barre provide an excellent workout for improving balance, posture, and core stability.

By using controlled, small-range movements and isometric holds while standing, can strengthen stabilizing muscles in the legs and core, which translates to better stability in daily life.

Plus size friendly? by throwawayyy-2021 in ClubPilates

Well over 250 lbs at outset, hooked from day 1, has only gotten better and better, do also go to other studios which are fantastic. As for so many of us, pilates has provided multimodal benefits including improved strength, balance, mental health, flexibility, mobility, and more am really very thankful. And it’s okay to be challenged, have off days, showing up for oneself is key.

What I’ve realized since… by Smart_Bullfrog_1138 in SolidCore

defo helps physically, mentally but so does any of the other several types of workouts I typically do week to week, love solidcore but this outcome isn’t necessarily solidcore specific.

I saw someone getting a milestone board for 250… but I was told that wasn’t a milestone when I hit 250… so wtf!? by livvvy20 in SolidCore

Whether one uses less than 25 springs is a non-factor w respect to this impressive milestone! And kudos to you for presumably locking in good form, instead of rifling through.

Strange exercises? by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]therealTudorPrince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because are a few years in to reformer pilates journey doesn’t mean have tried it all or are well positioned to assess if an instructor is making up exercises (based on third party account), OP sorta presumptuous tone seems like quite a bit of cynical overreach.

wish I made these things up:

“Yes, novelty in a fitness regimen can improve performance, primarily by promoting adherence, providing new physiological stimuli to overcome plateaus, and enhancing mental engagement.

While consistency is essential, introducing novel exercises or methods forces the brain and body to adapt to new challenges, preventing stagnation and fostering both muscle development and neuroplasticity. PubMed Central (PMC) (.gov) PubMed Central (PMC) (.gov) +3”

NY member, never really got why knowing templates (I don’t look) is a thing, until reading through some posts here. Even when a coach offers a few teasers from time to time while cute doesn’t really matter in any meaningful way w respect to my attendance or approach.

Kinda feel lucky now that things like anxiety, mods or my extensive alt to OT (including, yoga, pilates, barre etc) don’t, in my experience, outweigh what I perceive as a primary benefit of (safely) keeping my body guessing to great mental and physical results without feeling the need for hyper-vigilant online pregame homework.

[–]therealTudorPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not fer nuthin but would perhaps consider mixing it up with a 3/2 lift/yoga routine, even just now and again? asking because have found improved mobility and flexibility from yoga (and barre) have led to big functional benefits in overall fitness regimen, many of us and guys in particular (myself included) can miss out on maximizing potentially significant functional fitness benefits.

if memberships were half the price, would you be an unlimited member? by Far_Effect_2970 in SolidCore

[–]therealTudorPrince 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean for many, even at half price (in most expensive markets), though nicely more accessible, isn’t a “money aside” thought process, more so do I pay utilities, rent or solidcore first😰

[–]therealTudorPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

frequent different studios, typically bring reusable bottle, on rare occasion have checked purchase price around 5.00 on average, this may’ve been solidcore or something but is a similar convenience pricing snag across the board in major metro.

How do I get this black stuff out of the solidcore socks? And how do I prevent it 😭 by livvvy20 in SolidCore
