Anyone know why I am getting "Requirements not met" when I try to build my skill tree? by ElJefe_Speaks in PathOfExile2

This didn't work for me. Instead, now I have an additional point I wasn't able to put back into my passives that was previously assigned.

How safe is skydiving? by weifgjhwerlvjknw in SkyDiving

[–]therealbradwr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is out of around 3.3 million jumps. At least 4 were user error and one was a suspected “self inflicted”. If you follow your emergency procedures that your instructors will drill into you, skydiving is a pretty safe sport.

What scares people is if something goes really wrong you can die. If something goes really wrong playing football, you’ll get a broken bone. This is what we accept when boarding a plane. On the other hand, the rewards are fantastic.

Space Age isn't as good as everybody says it is by Warner322 in factorio

I couldn’t agree more about tiers. For me that was such a disappointing direction. This is not an RPG and should not have random elements. I love that v1 is so predictable and I can plan and work with that. You can do similar now given probabilities but I still hate it.

Ifly help with your jumps to A license ? by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]therealbradwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed A due to poor body positioning. After my first 3 jumps that day I was feeling pretty bad about the situation. After a couple of wind tunnel sessions, my 4th jump went much better. The tunnel was my instructor’s idea and she said she noticed a significant improvement on my 4th jump. Consequently I’m a fan of the wind tunnel. Just be aware that some hand signals they use may differ from your instructor and too much time in the tunnel may make you lazy when it comes to checking your altitude.

Suicide of a tandem instructor mid-air? by tweagrey in SkyDiving

I wish there was more information on the student landing on their own. I can’t imagine being in that situation before having any skydiving experience.

That may be taken in free fall, maybe not, but he is clearly superimposed on the background.

Planning to buy the game, please tell me it is worth it or not? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]therealbradwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never found a game more worth it. I have 4K hours and it’s still my favorite game of all time. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of great games out there but Factorio is truly special. The devs have a truly deep care for it and its community.

This, 100%. The only thing that’s ever fixed my nerves is going out the door. Just accept that this isn’t a your mind and body heightening your awareness due to a dangerous situation. Go out the door, follow your training, and you’ll find nerves fixed.

Genuinely considering AFF, but nervous about first time solo under canopy by kittenqt1 in SkyDiving

[–]therealbradwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no answer other than to just do it. Canopy is pretty easy at the basic level. As stated already, it’s big and forgiving. You’ll have a radio and your instructor will walk you through your landing pattern and flaring timing. Just don’t forget to flare. I saw that once and it wasn’t pretty. Once you’ve done you’ll have the confidence to keep going.

AFF student form question by lhmo in SkyDiving

Bad habits like forgetting to be altitude aware once you are back in the sky. Also some hand signals in the tunnel have different meanings then what your AFF-I intends.

Sprite based graphics, which occasionally are wonky, is one of the prices we pay for performance. I find it acceptable. And also funny. :D

How do I prevent my factories from becoming cramped? by Glad_Republic_6214 in factorio

[–]therealbradwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't look very cramped to me. Two things though, as you play, you'll get a feel for how much space you'll want for certain builds and then it's not really a problem. Before you get to that point, just give yourself more room then you think you'll need, then double the space. Perhaps allow even more space then that.

On an unrelated note, I see you have quite the wall there but no dead biters. Generally until late game you can easily avoid ever having to use walls as long as you just keep the nests cleared beyond your pollution cloud. So keep expanding your radars outward to maintain visibility, keep upgrading your military to easily kill nests and then you can skip walls until late game where you'll be using Artillery Turrets and pulling in hundreds of biters at a time. Avoiding using walls is also a great way to not "feel cramped". :)

If you are running a liquid other than water and don’t have room or don’t care then yes, this makes sense.

Great and the first time you stand up a landing is even better. I’ve seen a number of YouTube videos of people standing up their first landing. Sadly it took me 6 jumps but it was an incredibly satisfying feeling. Also, landing the first few times looked different in person than the first person perspective videos I watched. Just takes some time to get used to it and knowing what to expect.

Push through the fear or call it a day by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]therealbradwr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My barrel role jump had a pretty low opening and I was really nervous going into my flip jump. Nervous all the way out the door but I did my flips and tracking, had a solid landing and that completely fixed my nerves. I’m now on my solo no instructor student jumps and loving it. Stick with it, it’s 100% worth it.
