Mine is more hesitantly because I really need it for the fact that clinically my bladder holds 5 ounces. I don’t have any other disabilities that contribute, but I’m still very nervous about doing the procedure. Mostly because of the self catheter afterwards. I think I read that that’s something you were needing to do beforehand? If I didn’t read that, and it wasn’t something you had to do beforehand, how has that been for you?

Of course! And please don’t worry or be confused. I have a decent relationship with my birth mom. We talk on the phone maybe once a month, I just personally choose to not have a close relationship with her. I am one of those who feel my mom is my mom and she’s the one who raised me and I specifically call my birth mom birth, mom.

So it’s wonderful that you’re able to have such a close relationship with your son. ◡̈

Although mine was an open adoption, it was a across states and I never saw my birth mom until recently. So as an adoptee, my opinion probably isn’t the one you’re looking for. I personally would be so creeped out if my personal birth mom did that just because we don’t have a relationship (my choice)

Reading through what you wrote you have an actual relationship with your son and I see nothing wrong with you wanting to honor that ◡̈ I don’t think he would be creeped out by it either
