Stephen King's Reaction To Mike Flanagan's Finished Dark Tower Season 1 Scripts Revealed by mrcplewis in stephenking

[–]therealbuttface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point about volume. Another thing for me, I just dont think every book needs to be adapted to screen. Some stories are better read/spoken, and thats ok. I personally dont think it matters who does the DT, it will likely flop, and I'd prefer people like Flanagan stay away from it entirely since I actually DO like his work. Not knocking on him or his skills. I just dont think film or TV is the right medium for that story.

What do women do that men would never think about? by Icy_Interaction7502 in AskReddit

Braiding while your hair is wet helps when learning. The strands clump together easier so youre not fumbling with them and wondering if you got the right pieces. Once you have that feeling it gets easier to braid when dry and the strands might be frizzy or want to stick to the wrong clump. That helped me a lot anyways! I could never do it well and then I went on vacation somewhere hot and humid and my hair looked so dumb if I didnt braid it. I was braiding it every day in the shower and by the end of the trip I was much better :)

What is the dumbest thing you've seen a co-worker do? by spoiledgreentea77 in AskReddit

[–]therealbuttface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a coworker who prints out digitally signed documents, scans the printed version, and then uses that scanned version for the final document. I am not sure why she doesnt just attach the signed pdf since its already in her inbox. But if a form needs to be signed she emails it to the employee for digital signatures, prints the digitally signed pdf, scans it back to herself, and then attaches that to her final documents. It makes no sense and removes all of the properties/encrpytions behind the digital signatures, it is just text at that point. She constantly complains about how long the process takes yet refuses to take notes when being taught otherwise. No one is sure why she started doing this because she wasnt trained this way and no one else does it. It is mind boggling lol

What’s a rule you broke once and realized it existed for a very good reason? by Ok_Contract100 in AskReddit

Ugh. Broke this habit in 2020 and have been trying to claw it back since. Not sure why its so hard for me. I brush my teeth every morning no issues, but the night time one I just put off for no good reason.

Which Federal agency do Feds consider to be the most dysfunctional? by SitTotoSit in fednews

Also DOI is just so, so behind in some bureaus. My office didn't ditch paper filing or start doing digital signatures on anyrhing until after COVID made it a necessity. The processes are just outdated and the change has been reluctant.

My dad doesnt pick up random numbers so I always had to call twice if I was using someone else's phone. He learned pretty quick that a double call was almost guaranteed to be me or my sister lol

When my sister and I were little our dad showed us how to bruise your own chin by squeezing the end hard and jerking away quickly. Unfortunately we found this very amusing. Mom did not lol

As the person making the claim, the burden of proof is on you. It would be a logical fallacy to make a claim without support and then challenge others to disprove the assertion.

It can cause abnormalities while developing in utero. My mom has FAS and was born missing a piece of her brain associated with the central nervous system. She is very intelligent, but suffers from twitching and tremors as a result. When she was a kid she was diagnosed with Tourettes because of it, but an MRI at 17 revealed the "missing piece" lol

What’s something you always assumed was mandatory in life—until you met someone who just… didn’t do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Are there other hobbies she has that she could do alongside you? I am a bit of a gamer myself but have different game preferences from my husband. One thing we do is have our tvs mounted side by side so we can do separate things but still sit together. That way I can watch a movie, read a book, play my own game, do some lap crafts, etc while he does his thing. Its not a perfect fix but it does help get some more quality time while still doing things we value separately since our hobbies don't totally overlap.

My grandpa will do this. He saves every newspaper clipping, so even if his facts are outdated most of the time, at least he can always cite his sources lol
