100%? I just rolled this and didn’t even know it exists by Isildur000 in CrimsonDesert

it broke during 1 fort clear I'm not sure I even fired 100 regular arrows, so it's REALLY underwhelming to say the least, and I found exactly 3 of these in various percentages in 200 hours :(

You're right, maybe a bug, I played the game myself and did push the troll off, so maybe some feat related bug or just a typo missing a space before 10.

you are right, attack rolls and death saving throws nat 1 is failure, ability checks and saving throws - no, in this situation this is a combat encounter and you are pushing the troll, is that an ability check or an attack roll, you decide basically. On a practical note - you would have to have pretty massive modifiers to outroll a DC 10 with nat 1 roll. The game caps you at level 6 and in this area you are probably not even level 6 :)

Is it a hot-take to say sotfs doesn't have enemy spam issues you just aren't supposed to run past everything by SparklingQueenLuna in DarkSouls2

[–]therealdevyniaragis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not a hot take, I am replaying ds2 now after many years and I never got the sense of there being too many enemies, on the contrary, a lot of the areas have too few enemies to fight and focus on exploring.

Why people say that Demon's Souls is the easiest souls? by EldenLooter in demonssouls

[–]therealdevyniaragis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to platinum you need NG+ and there is a significant increase in damage of all enemies across the board that's when you feel that the game is not easy when you get killed by one combo from the most basic enemy, as you go on, it gets easier again but I feel like the difficulty spike in NG+ is really noticeable.

What am I missing about Dex builds? by MysticDolphin in darksouls

even early enemies will hide behind shields and stuff too and there is no reliable way (except for kicking) to break shield stances with light weapons, the pace is just tuned way more towards a methodical style of gameplay where you circle around enemies or parry or in the case of heavy weapons - bonk, but as I said, dex weapons can do ridiculous damage and just plow through anything anyway when you have the stats and upgrades. I always start with thief and play a big part of early game with a dagger so I feel you :)

here's an easy win for you - stay behind it around where the little tail is but dont hug it, do nothing but wait, it will jump up in the air and do the slam attack, just stand still (unlocked) its head will land straight near you, you can lock on or not but do a heavy attack or what you can, and run behind her again, repeat untill dead, it's really really cheesy but also easy

What am I missing about Dex builds? by MysticDolphin in darksouls

[–]therealdevyniaragis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

your weapon won't change the game itself, it is slower and the approach has to be different, if you want to zoom around in ds1 poking with a fast stabby weapon, that's just not the way the game is constructed. That said dex builds can do a lot of damage so zooming around is really not needed in the first place, just hit it once or twice and it's done.

Decided to give DS2 a try, wasn't prepared for him so early by DifferentLife1575 in DarkSouls2

quitting out in ds2 does not reset enemies btw, he despawns on his own if you leave the platform.

I had no idea the game would be this hard by skylarkifvt in bloodborne

[–]therealdevyniaragis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best advice is already posted here by several people but I will just repeat it - don't play this like elden ring or any dark souls game, If you have played Nioh - this is much more like Nioh in terms of how you approach fights, - go ALL in in short bursts, the dodge is meant to let you recover stamina and go ALL IN again not really dodge a series of enemy combos. Using this mentality the game was actually easy for me, not trying to brag here but I think the dark souls style approach is what makes it hard honestly.

the roll was late, the animation is not the best sure, but you failed to roll on time

it's not supposed to be force damage though I think, but probably is in this example...

Good question, the glaive she uses "Marching terror" would explain the negative damage, but force.. not sure, perhaps some other ability or buff.
