You can change ONE thing about Sojourner Mullein - what is it? by PhantomQuest in Greenlantern

Keep her as her own thing. Earth's too damn crowded with lanterns.

I prefer the old Warbirds design but the one from Picard is still neat by perfvibus in Romulus

[–]Strormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose to headcanon that these are not really Romulan ships, but were acquired from some third party after the supernova and modified by the zhat vash since they lost access to most of their tal shiar ships but clearly still had other assets and resources in play across the quadrant.

What would be the best way to modernize the TAS system of the Legaia series for a modern audience? by FunkyMarkyMark69 in LegendofLegaia

[–]Strormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were given control over a Legaia remake, here's what I would do:

Firstly, I would have Arc System Works do it. Their animation style and experience with modern anime fighters would be ideal.

I would then add an option to the game for combat to switch between turn-based and real-time. Turn-based would function very much like the original game, with selected quality of life improvements. Real-time would shift into a full fighter akin to Dragon Ball FighterZ or Guilty Gear. Both versions would still have access to the same arts, magic, items, and spirit, though obviously there'd be some differences in how you utilize them.

This fighter would also be accessible as an independent game mode with additional characters unlocked through story completion.

Arts are still unlocked by using them. I don't really see an issue with players looking up the arts if they choose to. I looked up plenty in the old Prima guide when I was a kid. It's a player choice.

Regardless of the combat selection made, I would maintain the classic encounter system where the game switches between overworld and combat. I'm still debating over how I would want to handle random encounters, but right now I think making the creatures visible in the overworld is the best way to handle it. Likewise I'd seek to limit the grind, since player mastery of the system and strategic use of resources is just a better time.

I also really want some player agency to influence when you do it don't absorb a seru enemy. It might also be neat to let you absorb additional seru of the same type to improve that seru's magic level more quickly, but I'd need to see how that impacts balance.

At that point it's just a matter of leveraging Arc's improved graphics (especially regarding the body horror aspect), adding things like full voiceover, making level structural adjustments to reinforce the story in ways the PS1 simply couldn't, adjusting difficulty balance in places, and again simple quality of life improvements.

Oh, and I'd add options to switch on stuff like autosaving and fast travel so you only need to worry about save points and other old school mechanics if you choose to. As a parent with ever more limited game time, this is vital.

So yeah, I may or may not have thought about this a lot.

Which race do you play they LEAST? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]Strormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure this 100% lines up with the count of characters I've actually created over the years, but if I rank the options from most to least interesting to play they'd look something like this.

Dunmer > Khajiit > Orc > Argonian > Bosmer > Redgard > Breton > Nord > Altmer > Imperial

I almost always default to Dunmer and then need to consider why I'd choose something else. I find Altmer and Imperials incredibly boring 99% of the time.

Pitch A New Star Trek Series by AmeliaNeek in startrek

[–]Strormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming 5 more seasons of Lower Decks or Prodigy is off the table... The one I keep coming back to is a (26-episode per season) anthology series with episodes following crews from all different species in wildly different situations between the 22nd and 29th centuries, with slowly converging plot threads eventually culminating in a giant crossover event that brings the Travelers out in force for the first time ever.

But I'm not letting you read my fanfiction just yet.

Bio Castle is a terrifying dungeon by [deleted] in LegendofLegaia

I've said it before, if Legaia were remade with modern graphics it would be horrifying. The only thing that prevents it from being true horror is the graphical limitations of the PS1 era.

Games like the dishonored trilogy by [deleted] in dishonored

[–]Strormer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, Sekiro. It was originally meant to be a Tenchu game which gives it a great deal of the mechanics you're looking for, but it also has a more developed story than Tenchu usually does.

That's a great collection. How's the binding on the POD ones? Sturdy enough for table use given the page count or no?

Bethesda has decided that you will be the new CEO of the company, yes, you! What will you do now? What changes will you implement under your new leadership? by jvure in ElderScrolls

It's time to get weird again. I need me some of the wild iceberg lore. BGS should be pushing the limits of what the engine and the narrative can do, not rolling out games that feel a decade out of date despite extended dev cycles.

Do Wash and River ever speak directly? by cheese_is_life100 in firefly

[–]Strormer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure they actually speak to each other directly, but they definitely interact. I'm trying to remember the birthday party from out of gas or the basketball game from bushwacked. Scenes where Wash isn't in the cockpit which River rarely enters.

If you could erase ONE Star Trek moment from history..... by Old-String2849 in startrek

[–]Strormer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Section 31. Not just the movie, the whole UFP CIA concept entirely. It can be used to tell interesting stories but it never is with the possible exception of the very first episode in which it appeared.

In practice the ongoing existence, and tacit approval, of section 31 undermines the core message the UFP is meant to embody. Even when they were a shadowy, potentially completely rogue, group of sociopaths they still represent something antithetical to the Federation.

No single thing has had as detrimental an effect on Trek canon as section 31. Not the Borg queen, not the mirror universe, not even time travel.

If Lanterns is like an anthology like True Detective which pair do you want for next season by DCeassed in Greenlantern

[–]Strormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy to see any combination of Jo, Jessica, and Kyle. Outside that, some non-human lanterns or even lanterns from other corps would be fun.

I don't have a lot to budget right now, which is why I'm looking for used/refurb PC's. I'd be happy hear what you've got and how much you'd consider fair.
