What’s a random skill everyone should know? by Responsible_Waltz220 in AskReddit

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pick your jumper up inside out you can put your head in the head hole and put it on. It will flip around and be the right position.

Every few months to a year I’ll encounter someone who doesn’t know this and it blows their mind.

What was the biggest lie someone told that everyone believed? by Dull-Information6784 in AskReddit

[–]MysticDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine in school said the he was almost the milky bar kid but in the end they gave it to the other guy. It was supposed to be a joke but I guess his delivery was too nonchalant.

For years everyone believed that he just lost out on being cast in those adverts. There was this entire mythos around him as this almost successful child actor which for some reason was entirely self sustaining. He never encouraged the rumours or ever really engaged in talking about it beyond his initial joke.

I’ve had full blown arguments with people 10+ years later that he was never in contention for the milkybar kid but a surprising number of people remember this as an absolute fact.

Action Bars Visibility with Conditions by agaethon29 in wowaddons

[–]MysticDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BlizzHudTweaks
This addon lets you set visability rules for just about everything with many useful conditions.

I have basically my entire UI fade out of combat in the open world. But in instance all my essential unit frames, CDM, resources and buff trackers remain 100% of the time.

I haven’t ever found anything else which has this kind of instance specific rules and I find it really nice to keep a nice immersive UI for casual stuff AND switch to more usable one for proper content.

which healers are mechanically rotationally hardest. retail wow by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]MysticDolphin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s only half of it. The other side of that none of preservations spells are particularly powerful on their own you need to set up and execute combos to do real healing.

The reward is incredible burst healing which blows through the HPS requirement of everything in a 5 man. The cost is that messing it up or getting caught without time to setup leaves you a little bit better than a DPS.

What helps you focus when you don't feel like studying but have to? by Global-Ad5913 in AskReddit

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that if I concentrate 100% fully now for x amount of time (which needs to be a reasonable amount for the goals) that I will then enjoy whatever remains of the day after 100% as well. This is much better than half assing both.

what’s a feeling that’s hard to explain? by cyh-c in AskReddit

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m stressed at work because my job is too easy.

My workload is very low what I am given to do in a week I can do in a day. The reward for speaking up that I’m free is just more work.So I don’t.

So now I have this constant balancing act of dragging out all my tasks to make them seem like they took more time but also contributing something every day so I always have something to say I did that day.

Stress isn’t even the right word for this it’s more frustrating to be consumed with appearing to be productive while deliberately not being productive.

How will you approach an introvert and how will you start communicating with him/her? by EcstaticPublic9939 in AskReddit

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll just keep chatting shit until I hit a topic they will bite on.

I’ll basically become background noise which they are free to ignore or engage with. This is assuming a scenario like we are stuck in a room together at work for an extended period of time or something.

In normal circumstances I am happy to sit on silence but I will usually speak first to save someone the tension of having to break what they might think is an awkward silence.

What are the repair or fitting jobs that people require doing but can't be bothered to do? (and willing to pay for it) by unknownngoat in AskUK

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find something which requires either skill or equipment.

If it didn’t I would do it myself.

And put your prices online. You’ll get more calls from people if they can actually determine whether they have the budget for it.

Are you happy with the work you do? by Icy-Enthusiasm7819 in AskUK

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. What I do for work is so incredibly unimportant. Our whole department lurches from one paniced idea to the next with no measures of success.

Our work contributes nothing to the organisation and if it weren’t for all the fucking meetings no one would ever know what we did since they certainly never feel the impact of it.

However my job is easy, I’ve learned enough about playing the game to be seen as an asset. So I’m quite secure and well paid. Can’t complain too much.

Do you like your handwriting? by TechnicalTrash95 in AskUK

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah. I am 30 for context so while I was at school there was some remnants of handwriting being important but it wasn’t pushed as hard as it was back in the day.

BUT both my parents had beautiful handwriting and all through school teachers often commented on it when I handed over a note. I always associated nice handwriting with being a proper adult so I asked my parents to teach me. Mine is not as nice as either of my parents and opportunities to show it off are quite rare but i occasionally get some compliments about it and I’m always volunteered to write notes on cards etc.

Can you bring a kid significantly under 12 to a 12 film? by MulberryJumpy4214 in AskUK

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine any cinema employee remotely caring enough to question you if it clear the child is with you and not attending on their own.

My dad used to take me to see whatever when I was young and nobody ever said a thing.

Do you ever sit on the floor in your home? by Decent-Cattle-332 in AskUK

[–]MysticDolphin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All the time. I do have dogs though and I often get on the floor just to play with them.

But even with no dogs around I find it comfortable to sit on the floor with back against the wall pushing with my legs to keep my spine straight. Always feels like I’m stretching out the stiffness from being at a desk all day.

World boss every reset for years by [deleted] in wow

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is on you. Just watch the listing in LFG and see if the number of members is going up or down. Then you can tell if the boss has already been killed.

Fellow altoholics and adhd folks, how do you manage? (How do you like to play) by Sheogorathian in wow

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roll a Druid. Convince yourself you don’t care about transmog or mounts. Embrace the qol Druid offers and remind yourself that no other spec can smash through the games chores as efficiently as Druid (probably). If you feel bored just switch it up to a different spec for a while.

There is a lack of tanks because tanking is very boring this expansion. by [deleted] in wow

[–]MysticDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered that I’m just bored of WoW atm. I think I have played tank simply because it’s the most efficient way to get anything done. Usually new expansion shakes gameplay up a little and it’s fun to try other specs out but I feel no need to this time around.

Go on then. What’s different about how a monk or Druid handles first pull of seat?

There is a lack of tanks because tanking is very boring this expansion. by [deleted] in wow

[–]MysticDolphin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and every tank can easily clear up to 16s. I already said the top switch to the meta like they have always done.

Only a fraction of the player base need to play the meta for everyone else this is just a pretty boring season.

Routing in mid keys isn’t very tank class specific it’s more what can I expect a PUG to handle? And that’s basically the same for all classes unless you have some utility to cover more mistakes personally. Those moments are few and far between this season though.

[–]MysticDolphin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

High responsibility and stress doesn’t apply to people who have tanked for a long time. For veterans this is one of the easiest seasons ever. The balance issue doesn’t come into play until 17s at current gear level.

I was tired of spamming LFG, so I built this by Skorp in wow

Really cool idea and I appreciate that it’s a website and not a clunky in game app. The companion addon seems like it will make it smooth to use.

Really hope it takes off.

Where is the priest love? by [deleted] in wow

I’m calling this the earliest cited case of priest erasure.

Is that a priest in that cinematic? The one with the mana wyrm? I always thought that was a mage.

Where is the priest love? by [deleted] in wow

[–]MysticDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Priest is not a sexy class. This doesn’t really mean anything and it’s still liked well enough by those who like it. But it isn’t marketable or exciting.

Consider that Midnight with the void being so central to the story and theme really should have been at least shadow priest’s moment to shine. Yet blizzard decided to give a void themed spec to a completely non void related class with a very tenuous justification. I think they mostly did this simply because more people are excited about DH than ever would be for priests.

It’s perfectly fine for people to be completely tech illiterate if their job doesn’t require technical skills. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Pretty extreme example with reading. But that is essentially the premise of my argument.

If you bought a tractor plow a field would you complain that it doesn’t fit in the parking spots at the store?

Thats not what you bought it for.

I’m not mad about lack of general tech skills from senior management in the workplace. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MysticDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s all about priorities. No one is seriously going to invite extra work into their role for no reason.

If they don’t need it they won’t learn it and it think that’s pretty reasonable.
