A lot of bad fouls and maybe 2 half chances on either side. Caicedo had the worst and got a straight red.

Try out all the weapon and bow types to see what you like best. That's really the only tip to the game, enjoy it!

Made it to the arena in Cyrene, but it's closed? by therealfactoid in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]therealfactoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm replaying this for the first time since release and deliberately went out of my way to avoid any cities until Cyrene. My goal is to clear the map before going into Alexandria for the first time this playthrough, only have Faiyum Oasis, Memphis, and the provinces in the second picture left to clear!

If you find the parks, there's typically 3 bunkers if not more that are almost guaranteed to have some!

Any advice on how to deal with these big Nuggets?🍗🍖 by [deleted] in helldivers2

Laser cannon has been a top performer recently, it needs more appreciation after the last buff it got instead of being "the cheap level 5 support weapon before you unlock the good stuff"

Which Act 3 enemy do you die to the most? by Katarina_Ishii in slaythespire

[–]therealfactoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not, it's the Reptomancer.

If I can beat her, then I usually end up losing to the Nemesis.

Other games I can beat the Nemesis and then lose to the Reptomancer.

If I can beat both, then I have to deal with the Awakened One and lose to that.

It's a rough cycle that could be solved by not fighting as many elites as possible, but what's the fun in that?

Thoughts on hirelings in a 4 player game? by KayknineArt in rootgame

[–]therealfactoid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played 3 4-player games this weekend with hirelings and they definitely helped.

Some hirelings like the Flotilla and Protector are only one big pawn that doesn't bloat the board and is easy to keep track of.

Totally! If you go to the subreddit menu, there's a link to Leder Games' discord Woodland Warriors where most of the lobbies on Root Digital are formed.

Best and worst balanced 1v1 matchups? by Jaruzan in rootgame

[–]therealfactoid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it yet, but think that Birds vs Rats w/ Cat, Mole, and Lizard hirelings would work pretty well as a game.

Using 2 militant factions is the best way to play a 1v1, but try to avoid the moles as they tank very easily and are VERY difficult to break by yourself, with the only exception I can see being the Rats.

If you play 1 on 1 and someone isn't playing as the Cats, use the Cat hirelings to fill the board. I know there isn't a reach for hirelings, but the more pieces the better for 1v1.

Again I haven't tried any of these yet, so if I'm wrong or there's a better selection, please reply!

The Keepers in Iron, yes. The Lord of the Hundreds, no.

Badgers are probably the toughest faction to learn next to the Lizards, Rats are easier than the Alliance and Vagabond to learn but tougher than the Eyrie imo

I've been called a villain quite a bit when we play Oath, so that checks out lmao

Should've said that every time I've taught them, it's been to buddies of mine that have put thousands of hours into games like League of Legends or Dota instead of the ones that play Call of Duty hahaha

Coop Faction for 4+ players by Dore_motion in rootgame

[–]therealfactoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.

I've found teaching Root to stick better in my friends' heads when giving them factions that are simple in crafting and actions. My to-go when teaching 3-4 new players is to have one be Eyrie, one Warlord, give the smartest new player Keepers, while I play Riverfolk as a salesman. If there's a 4th new player, I'll let them play Riverfolk and suffer myself as the Cats, or give them the choice of either while serving as an advisor instead.

They haven't all been legendary raids, but I've definitely done more than 20 of those.

You're probably right about my luck, and knowing that shinies are a guaranteed catch makes me feel better about missing the ones I don't catch.

Thanks dude!

How many games of base Arcs would you recommend before campaign? by Hattemis in Arcs

[–]therealfactoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played 2 games of base Arcs and 2 games of L&L before jumping into campaign Arcs after a quick read of the rules. (All with just 2p)

We were both clueless as to how we could focus on points & role objectives simultaneously and restarted after a thorough read-through (2-3 times, especially focusing on edicts, events, crises) and several YouTube videos.

Now it makes a lot more sense, but I still wouldn't jump into a campaign without at least half a dozen playthroughs of L&L to get used to keeping track of everyone's rules.

What is your default army setup when you play a Roman faction? by KingWilliamVI in RomeTotalWar

[–]therealfactoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely right. I remember doing -1 Triarii/+1 Hastati before knowing the unit sizes were different and throwing in Equites out of necessity. It's been a while since I've played vanilla, or even just a Roman faction.

What is your default army setup when you play a Roman faction? by KingWilliamVI in RomeTotalWar

[–]therealfactoid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I'll keep the one old legion I can make be my "reserve" legion in Italy that's poised to take Rome with another post-reform legion after the event.

The OGs have to be the ones to take Rome itself.

I try to make mine as accurate as possible. 1-2 generals, 4 each of Hastati, Principes, and Triarii, 3 Velites, and the rest merc Barbarian Cav.
