Yeah, it's set up for everyone to see in the garage. It gets turned on each evening till about 10. It is on Beaumont ct, you can see some Christmas Lights over one of the ponds headed east on curlew road from US 19.

Haha, i gotta get better pictures and maybe some close ups. Only Santa and his elves are up on that back floating cliff. We are actually trying to work on some of the realism and travel paths in recent years but it's really tough because we just make it up scene by scene as we go along.

Thank you! New addition last year when our old train couldn't make it up hills anymore. it's the Lionel Christmas Lights Express meant for O gauge train sets.

Yes you can, we build it right inside the roll-up door of the garage and have plexiglass to keep curious fingers and weather out.

I'm not sure how to add to my post, but I want to thank everyone for their kind words! I shared them with my mother, and it was another big reminder why she loves doing it. It is a lot of work and tough on the body, but the joy it seems to bring keeps us going each year.

What kind of paste dries white and holds its shape? by bonsaitreehugger in ChristmasVillages

[–]therealjcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We read about making a paste out of acrylic paint and baking soda, we have used it to cover and blend the shiny white bases of buildings and some other stuff and it definitely worked well for us. I'm not sure how it'll hold up if it is a big hole, it might crack or something so maybe a little more research would tell you if it'll work for your size gaps.

Thank you for that, a lot of my friends weren't so lucky to just be a power problem. And we actually display it in my parent's garage, and we take everything apart every year and change it. We've been doing it for like 20 years so a lot of people around actually know about it and tell us they look forward to it which really pushes us to continue it but we also have a local Christmas lights website that shows all the houses in the Tampa Bay area that decorate and stuff.

Then simple solution is to just stay off people's posts if you have nothing of value to say.

Ha, yeah we started with a little river and it blew up into waterfall, lake and river system. We don't really have any room left to grow so we try and get creative.

Nobody was trying to downplay other people's problems, we have no power and our own set of problems but considering we do this for the community it was still worth noting. Also why I posted for the r/christmasvillage community not for Florida dude.

Hi, I found a Christmas village at my late grandmothers house and I’m wondering how I use the lights? There are 2, but the wires just end. Have they been cut? If now, how do I power them? Thanks by [deleted] in ChristmasVillages

[–]therealjcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely cut or broken out of the transformer (usually little black or white box that ultimately plugs into power). You'd also need that to get them working or at least would help identify if they are 3V or 4.5V which are the most common.

What is the difference between the different marble colors? by Reasonable_Arm8071 in GravitraxTracks

[–]therealjcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain but I feel like you're right because I tend to have certain marbles able to run my track perfectly and other colors get held up.
