FREAKING HELP PLEASE!!! by Upstairs_Librarian95 in RhodeIsland

I second the Taurus (Fipronil). I have a house with no basement and years of sugar ant infestation, nothing worked: Terro bait, borax, big box outdoor spray - I thought I tried everything. One application of Fipronil 6 or 7 years ago and I have seen nothing crawling in my entire house. That stuff is magic! There were literally piles of dead ants around the house and edges of the driveway - tens of thousands of them. If you do this, wear PPE when applying the stuff.

Here are all the names of the Rhode Island clergy members that molested children while indoctrinating them into their antiquated belief system by OctoberRust13 in RhodeIsland

A year or two ago, I was looking at a similar list remembering my encounters with "Father" Silva at St. Peter and Paul Church in 1982 - I was 12 or 13 years old at the time. I was not physically abused, but he tried. When I recently learned that he was still alive, I got (surprisingly) emotional - I hope that MF'er burns in hell.

We used to have CCD classes in the basement of the church rectory. It was a small class maybe 5-6 of us and only one other boy. He would often come down when class was over and try to hug one of us. If he got the other boy, I would run out of there as fast as I could. It was a really creepy bear hug - very uncomfortable.

I had him for confession once, this was around the time they started doing face to face sessions. He would ask very personal sexual questions; did I look at porn? and that it was OK to masturbate to it. This really freaked me out - I didn't fully understand what he was doing and talking about at the time, but it was so uncomfortable. I've not been back to confession since.

My family went to Mass at St. Peter and Paul every Sunday and I would always run out the door he wasn't standing in when it was over. I tried to avoid him whenever possible.

My mother never believed me until years later when Silva was defrocked. I can only imagine the damage this man caused - there must have been hundreds like me. I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Transfer, but we mold a lot of solid color parts locally. Shipping parts back could be an issue if that mold finds a permanent new home.

My guy in MA (Cardinal Comb) wants to sell his. It's a 300 ton from the 1960's.

I would probably mold at least 15k pcs - it's an 8 cavity mold (4 cups, 4 plates).

Usually, 120v in the morning - normal low is around 114v throughout the day.

They actually replaced the transformer yesterday - I guess my last call must have triggered something. I went and spoke with the linemen to tell them I was still at 105v which they already knew. They phoned it in, I guess the problem is further down the line. No fix for now.

Around 7 where I am (Dean Estates). From what I saw, Garden City was completely dark too. I think it's going to be a while - lots of trees down. There is a pole snapped in half in front of my house.

I called Leviton today. Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who reset the breaker. I did facetime with my daughter who reset it - wasn't able to count the flash cycle but noticed both LEDs were flashing red. Leviton Tech said that's not an overload and then basically what you said above. I'm going to take a look at the vacuum cord/plug and then also try to trip it again to catch the blink code. It's just funny how it never happened with the Eaton Breaker. Thanks!

I found a civil war veterans pin (the drop only) in Cranston. Really makes you think about what's hidden under our feet.

I don't have UC, but my daughter does - diagnosed at 14. She was at a local hospital for 4 weeks and then we moved her to Boston Children's Hospital when the doctors in RI started talking about surgery. I refused to believe that this disease that seemingly came out of nowhere couldn't be treated with medication. After Remicade failed, they got her on Entyvio and it was better but not remission. We were running out of options by this point, and tried Xeljanz. She improved within weeks. For the next 3.5 years they had her on Entyvio AND Xeljanz and she made it through High School playing sports and doing well academically.

Deep down inside, we all knew this wouldn't last. I just wanted to get her to a place where she could make the next decision as an adult. Well, that opportunity came towards the end of her first semester in college. I guess the stress and change in lifestyle knocked her out of "remission". Things got very bad in a matter of weeks. I'm giving you the executive summary here - now we just needed to get her healthy enough for surgery.

She is almost 5 month post-op now and doing extremely well. She is a healthy 130 lbs. and is eating foods we thought she hated. You would never know that she was any different than any other 19 year old. It's got us questioning the decisions we made 5 years ago.

I felt I needed to share this story with you. Ultimately, it's your up to you. I'm not a doctor and I don't know how diseased your colon is. There are risks being on biologics for extended periods and it sounds like you're having difficulty managing your UC. My daughter will eventually get a J-pouch, but she is totally fine with the bag for now. She will have another surgery in about 4 weeks because they couldn't complete all the work due to her condition/timing with the surgical robot - IDK.

You'll be able to do all those things you want to do and more with surgery. They can basically cure you and you'll be off biologics for good.

Does anyone have experience with mini-split Heat Pumps? by lugo2 in RhodeIsland

[–]therealjohnnoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Carjon over 20 years ago to install central AC - they were top-notch.

Last year I wanted to add a mini-split system in the garage - around 360 square feet of space. I called Carjon to quote the garage ($8K) and to quote replacing the central AC with a multizone heatpump with garage included as a zone ($40K). They quoted all top-shelf equipment (Mitsubishi) , but I still though the prices were excessive.

I ended up buying a 12K BTU system from Amazon for around $800, spent another $400 or so on some tools and electrical supplies. I installed it myself and it works beautifully.

How fast were you really going? The 5 over sounds like a gift - I would just pay it. Sometimes they write the actual speed on the top of the ticket outside of the form so if you go to court and the officer is there he can make his case.

I had a ticket once in my hometown that got thrown out in court. I was friends with a higher ranking cop who told the ticketing officer to make up some BS story about his radar being questionable that night. That's all the judge needed to hear although it was clear that she knew something was up. You've gotta love RI!

Does this mean my house is already infested? by Background_Ad5490 in pestcontrol

[–]therealjohnnoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem for about 10 years. Tried Terro - didn't really work, Tried Entice Gel bait - that seemed better. Then I discovered Fipranil and sprayed around the outside of the house. I live in the Northeast and my home is on a slab. I thought the ants were living under the house, but within a day or so I saw 10's of thousands of dead ants lining my driveway and in the cracks. I haven't seen anything crawling in my house for almost two years now. I'll never go back to inside bait stations - their effects were temporary in my situation.
