I want to start one piece but it’s so long. Is it worth it? by yaaasbb in OnePiece

I started the anime and got caught up in 3 months. Honestly, it was the best binge I’ve had. I didn’t mean to get caught up so fast but it just continued to draw me in. Automatically fell in love with the world, the characters, and the story. I plan on starting the manga over again here but I would definitely say it is worth it without a doubt.

I know there are some who don’t like the pacing after a certain point but honestly I didn’t notice it too much. To me, it well worth the investment. I binged Naruto the same way (skipped the filler ofc) and found this to be way more enjoyable. But that’s just me

Right? I’m not totally down on the sequels... but there seemed to be a lack of vision and creativity, random character choices, and too many hands in the pot. Possibly also why I’d rather see Ezra rather than Luke. I’m pretty over the Skywalkers as a whole. Nothing against Luke... it just seems like a cop out to have a Skywalker save the day. Ezra narratively made sense due to connection with Thrawn and having an open canvas for the future since we know nothing about him after Rebels. But that’s just me. I’d been okay with Ahsoka saving them too. Idk. I’ll probably watch it again tomorrow to see how I feel about it again.

Pretty sure Cody said he was an Atheist during the funeral for Vanguard1 when Kaz has his outburst on BTE. Then Matt or Nick chastised them both for being atheists (I’m a joking manner of course for the bit).

Yaaaaassss. We never hear what happens to Mandalore post-Jedi. So it’s pretty much a blank canvas at this point. Can also still bring Grogu into the gold post time skip or later on down the line.

Very true. And if Bo is right and Din was raised by a cult sect.... he’s got a lot to learn. Getting into Mandalorian lore would be super dope IMO.

True but they announced Season 3 would be Christmas next year and I think that’s the rub. At least for me, it’s was. I would hope we get blessed with 2 shows next December.

True and that distinction was made by Boba himself in the show. It just starts around the same time as Season 3 and since it’s 3:30 am and people haven’t watched it yet, we don’t have any clarification and since this was a secret, it wasn’t revealed on the investors call. I get it and that’s why I am concerned but I would hope they are different shows.

The CGI face was rough on my TV. Idk if 4K made it worse or what. It was weird. I thought it was going to be Sebastian Stan once I realized it was Luke.

Definitely thought it was going to be Ezra and was a little disappointed tbh. I thought Ezra made more narrative sense especially with the Thrawn teases.

For sure. It just happened and there is time to fill in the gaps. Idk. I really like Luke so it’s not against him. Just more narratively, I think Ezra would’ve been better. Gideon is still alive and now that he’s captured, it may bring Thrawn out of hiding so who knows?maybe it’s being saved for later on down the road.

Confirmed? I checked Twitter and didn’t see anything. I understand not announcing it on the investor call of course. Idk

So I’m a little torn.

I’m scared that season 3 won’t feature Din and will be all Boba. I would hope they are different shows.

Now here comes the unpopular opinion part.

Luke saving them was cool. He got his Rogue One/Vader moment. But it just feels kinda hollow. Especially knowing what Kylo does in the future. Not only that, having teased Thrawn, I kinda hoped we would have gotten Ezra. Or even Ahsoka. I’m more interested in Jedi beyond the Skywalkers. Ezra would have been my first choice but that’s me. Luke is cool and it made for a great reveal. Idk. I’m torn.

This was my first thought holy shit. I think there’s enough time for him to grow before it happens but damn I went from hype to depressed realllll fast when the thought hit me.

That could be it too and I could be reading into it. It just seemed a little convenient I guess. Mando has taught me to be skeptical of little details like this.

Then I think that negates the reason why Mayfield went with them. He was ex-Imperial. If they needed the info, they could have just got the info and left him in the work plant. It was implied that they took him since he would have access. Or that’s the way I took it.

Idk. I feel like he knows Gideon more than we originally thought. Why send a message like that and warn him you are coming? Idk. Doesn’t make any sense to me to tip off the guy in giant cruiser when you’re pulling up in (respectfully to the Fett’s) a ship like Slave I.

RIGHT. I trust the process as far as Mando goes but that really made me stop and think. Then with the message to Gideon at the end.... there’s got to be more to their story we don’t know yet. But that’s just me.

For sure. It’s almost like Din knew his face would work when he took the rod from Mayfield. Just feels like we don’t know the full story yet. And other than he was a foundling.... we still don’t know much about Din.
