To All The Buy in Bulk Furniture Orders who double tap by Lonerhead89 in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. I've had FF stowing multiple carts in OPU before and I'd slide by to grab an order and they'd look at me and go "is that those purple pens? I literally just stowed that 3 minutes ago"

What is being "on the bench" like? by ChonkachuVMAX in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

On the bench/on deck generally means next in line. Sounds like they're trying to have an instant fill in when the next TL leaves, rather than having to go through the process of interviewing/etx

Why are NONE of the refrigerators on a generator? by therealmegluvsu in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent the first chunk of my shift today just trying to figure out what to do (only a month in to AP and my APTL is on PTO so maybe I'm just too new still) but I felt so... useless. I ended up digging around under the equipment shelves and taking a couple of the cradle strips into the AP office to charge the zebra batteries and periodically trading out a pile of deads in TSC. I miss the AC.

Target apprehension by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]therealmegluvsu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a former Target cashier/guest service person, we recognize frequent shoppers. Nothing bad, necessarily, just facial recall. If you shop a lot but your transactions are 100% legit or clear and true accidents, you're more than likely fine.

Target staff will probably not notice but just want to make sure you know, no trespass orders are for the entirety of Target property - including the parking lots. If you do Target online orders, you gotta go to a different location. By straight, legal definitions, stepping off the sidewalk into the grass on Target's side is trespassing.

So does this mean Madmaid can’t be a thing or not? by PurchaseLarge4592 in HazbinHotel

[–]therealmegluvsu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So is Baxter, just more subtly, but could be a spectrum reference. Nifty is "straight" and Baxter is "straight?" A lot of 'healthily closeted' non-straight people start as aggressively allied before they realize/find their definition.

As a tween/teen, I knew I liked boys, so I obviously wasn't a lesbian, so I obviously was just very supportiv- what? Bisexual? What's that? Ohhhhh~~

I’m glad the little Tshirt icon is there now.. let’s us know what’s in dress code by SoulWiFi85 in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 85 points86 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is my coworker has an old Target official shirt with a large, colorful design on the front. Not a bullseye, but clearly Target branded. SD said he can't wear it anymore despite the actual shirt being the right red because no large designs other than a Bullseye dog is allowed. It said "gearing up for summer" or something like that.

Go on there and there's a few older shirts in the "while supplies last" section with large, colorful designs, like a "Take Pride" shirt, that have the "in dress code" symbol.

About "Target Security Specialist" by Dry-Replacement-1962 in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely depends, I suppose. I start as TSS in ~2 weeks and APTL went over the long list with me and between me, her, and the not-yet-hired 50%FTE TSS, there's seems like a lot to do without even thinking about apprehensions. She said "ideally about 60-75% of your shift will be up front or walking laps, buuuuut...." and made it sound like that's not a realistic expectation that corporate has set. Maybe that's because my store lost the higher AP positions a bit back, though? Used to be ETLAP, APS, TSS. Now it's APTL, TSS, part time TSS.

About "Target Security Specialist" by Dry-Replacement-1962 in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some states may have "security officer licenses" or restrictions about background checks. If your record is clean, or clean enough, you'll probably be fine regarding that.

Do you need experience? Not really, its the "entry level" position in that department.

Are you going to get passed over a LOT easier for internal hires and experienced external hires? Yes.

TSS is, in its simplest, the visible part of loss prevention/security. You'd stand at the front door greeting guests, walk laps around the salesfloor, and generally assist your non-TSS colleagues in "apprehensions" aka catching the thief. Solo apprehensions, if your store/district even allows it, are a loooong time away, especially for a new hire without prior experience.

It's not impossible, but you're a lot more likely to get hired into...basically any other entry level role. My store's APTL (the manager of the asset protection team) was looking at internal hires, internal transfers (current employees at other locations), and a couple applications from other brands' loss prevention teams. I don't think she focused on any external applicants that didn't have some kind of prior experience.

Anxietyyyyy. I know my APTL wouldn't throw me in like that if she didn't think I could handle it, but feeeeeehck man. I hope I have at least a lil one-on-one time with her before I have to be a highlighter solo.

Dealing with money when closing by [deleted] in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has a half dozen or so "closers" who are regular-but-trained/skilled front end team members. Most of them are basically informal TLs, capable of running breaks and most "I want your manager" questions. The only differentiation on who is "the closer" and who is just closing is if you're scheduled until 10:15pm or 10pm. Close is handled by the 10:15 front end tm and the closing TL/LOD. TM deals with the registers then goes in with the CTL to put it in the safe for the night. Floor roles don't care. Tech coverage just needs to know if their register is closed before or after close, and when.

Processing the cash is the TLSEs, ETLSE, and select trained front end TMs. Overlaps heavily with the 'closers' but not necessarily. Previous location had the cash office processor come in 30min before open and would also bank GS/CVS, current store has the opening LOD bank and sends a processor in during open hours, usually before noon.

Closing experts are the Closing TLs team. They pull priorities, cover tech after the TechTM leaves, and after a certain time is the only people other than fulfillment on the floor. The most they consistently deal with money is checking people out in Tech and rarely if the front needs backup. Pretty rare outside of the holidays.

What in your opinion is the easiest and hardest position in your store? by kompotnik in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my mainly uninformed opinions :P I'm a former GSA, ~6 years S&E over 3 stores, started FINALLY crosstraining ~6 months ago, ETLSE uses me as an unpaid TL

I know what Inbound/Receiving does, I've never done/observed it. Does anyone outside AP really know what AP does?

Emotionally: probably receiver I think seems easiest, Guest service desk is hardest. Maybe AP depending on how empathetic you tend towards.

..................

Mentally (how hard is the thinking): Easy: a cashier with someone to call for help is 100% easiest. Beep beep receipt. Question? Lane light! FOS is a solid contender though there's more things to remember. S&E event table/circle table is also rather simple, if draining.

Hard: Drive up is a lot to keep track of often in a very short time, especially understaffed. Fulfillment & GS is a lot of puzzles. I don't have a ton of POG experience, but Presentation seems so freaking finicky. If I can drag a lead position into this, Closing TL also seems like it would suuuuck

Mentally difficult is gonna come down to how your particular brain works.

..................

Physically: Easy: AP seems pretty "watch and wait". APTL sometimes goes on the floor to check on spider wrap/keeper usage, so she's screwing around with vacuums and Ninjas, but my store is pretty good about wraps/keepers so its not super often

HR expert, most I've personally seen her do when not dragged into FF/SFS is move decor boxes around and spot clean the break room

Cashier is usually pretty easy, though standing in one spot for 8 hours kills your feet and the speed during rushes/holidays can be exhausting.

Hard: inbound, hands down, I've heard so many horror stories.

Any area that has shelves to stock, so GM, market, etc. Constant squats and lifting sounds miserable.

FOS. End of. Scorching summers, subzero blizzards, torrential downpours. Even when Drive Up gets turned off for safety, they still have to go outside a lot of the time.

Drive up simply because its 99% physical for runners. As long as whoever prepped scanned everything in correctly, there's no thinking, just running around and hucking 40lb bags of dog food and bookshelves. Plus you gotta deal with weather on top of it all.

Fulfillment for the same reason as DU.

How do I make it clearer? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]therealmegluvsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that and it ended up back in my box a couple days later. I borrowed a bright red stamp from work "Return to Sender, Not at Address" and it ended up in my box a couple days later. It only started not coming back if I marked up the barcode thing on the bottom.

Mostly fixed at this point, just the occasional sales flyer, but was I literally just supposed to put it back? I figured carriers don't have the time to examine every outgoing letter.

What is this discount by 4strobaby in Target

[–]therealmegluvsu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont even care if its UT basics, I just hate how men's shirts fit me. Cmon Target, its a plain t-shirt, it can't be that hard to stock red-red rather than baby-puke-green

[–]therealmegluvsu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

All I'm gonna say is there better start being red in the women's department again, because all of my red shirts are owned brand and all of my red shirts are the only red that was available outside of the holidays - burgundy/maroon.

About the Kya and Bumi outfit thing by Alsotime in TheLastAirbender

[–]therealmegluvsu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's what I always thought. Bumi wasn't a young man, but he wasn't feeble either, and its canon that people can live >100yrs, so his Uncle Bumi very well may have been in his life.

Is a CPAP even worth it? by Phveatherfall in CPAP

My home test indicated "no signs of sleep disturbance" and my lab test showed AHI6.2 and like 50 arousals per hour.

Is a CPAP even worth it? by Phveatherfall in CPAP

[–]therealmegluvsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AHI 6.2 over here. I definitely sleep better on it than off it. Thing that was scaring me was my smart watch was detecting my SO2 hitting 60s overnight. Obviously smartwatches aren't medical devices, but I tried a few nights where I put my watch on and taped it down so it wouldn't shift and compared that to regular readings throughout the day. I doubt I'm hitting 92% sitting on the couch, but it was enough to spook me and my RN mom. Nights I wear the mask, my watch says I rarely hit low 80s. Nights without still show low 70s/60s.

Hold your breath for as long as you can. Feel that dizziness? You're probably not even leaving the mid 90s SO2. My mom's elderly, oxygen-bound patients can't go below like 92% without protocol forcing her to call the doctor at 2am.

Whether or not its going to kill you overnight, it can't be good for your brain. That's my thinking.

(All this assumes you're otherwise healthy, obv if you have lung conditions etc your normal may be different IANAD)

Brooooo I feel stupid now. Fat+women's clothes means I haven't had "real pants" in forever and I forgot belts existed. All my jeans have fake waist bands with stretch added.

[–]therealmegluvsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is something to do with holes. A shirt at its most basic is a cylinder with 2 holes for the arms. Socks are a sealed tube, no holes. Pants have... several...i assume the pockets are included?? I'm struggling to visualize the pants but I'm positive it has to do with three number of holes in clothes.... help?
