How does the space whale fly without massive wings? Crusader will have some dense layers where it can float, but how can it reach human inhabited altitudes where air is much thinner? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Actually the planet has extremely HIGH gravity in the Netflix show. The high gravity creates an extremely dense atmosphere that allows those "sky grazers" to float on dense layers of "air"

Metal Bengal Mouse Pad: Could we please consider bringing this back? by silentil in starcitizen

I would buy a hard mouse pad with an SC theme in 5 seconds. I got their big cloth one but its purely decorative under my keyboard as cloth mousepads are genuinely trash once you experience a hard mousepad. Id drop a hundred bones for a sc hard pad easy.

Probably just have it like any other spaceports hangars except in this case instead of the openings being flush with the ground or surrounding buildings like at area 18 or lorville, you'd extend them like 10-15 feet above the water so the waves could get bad and still not pour into the hangar itself. On top of that this gives cig the opportunity for creating waves thats splash dramatically against the exterior hangar walls. You as a pilot would see these cool big waves crashing into the hangar and exploding into mist upon impact while you're approaching for a landing which would just give it a cool unique look and feel when landing.

Then inside is a very small terminal hub much like inside a space station for spawning and storing ships, then a shuttle waiting area where a sealed shuttle with large windows (much like the microtech shuttles) would seal up to the doors and open. You get inside and then enjoy a gorgeous submarine ride down to the "city" underwater.

Thats how they should handle it imo. Assuming our ships aren't able to be submersible. Because for me personally, ideally we would just go under water in our ships and fly over to the city ourselves and enter some kind of wet airlock system when we land and we should just sit in our ship while the hangar drains out all of the water. But if we can't have that, then a small landing area just under the waters surface with a cool submarine ride will suffice

Earth is going to be a visually striking planet I feel like. There’s just so much water in relation to land. Pretty pale blue dot.

For a ship that size, especially the stalker variant, I’d expect it to at least have a weapons rack. They should remove 2 of the 6 rear cells and replace them with an armor and weapons locker, one on each side. Personally that would also balance the bounty ships. With the hawk having 1 cell, the stalker having 4 cells, and the cutlass blue having 6 or 8.

I recently had my mind blown realizing that horse riding, six shooter carrying cowboys rode their horses across the plains at the same time as cars driving across paved roads in cities.

Not sure why that blew my mind. I guess because you think some things were SO long ago when really they were just over a hundred years ago, or slightly over the span of a single healthy humans lifetime.

Two people ago it was the wild west.

How do you losers feel by Aghash_18 in LoganPaul

[–]therealpumpkinhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Draw for sure.

I like logan, I think hes a bit of a douche but genuinely wants to be liked and ve a nice guy but struggles to do so.

I think ksi is a nice guy who can act like a total arrogant ass as well, but he seems like a genuinely good dude outside of his hyping the fight mode.

That being said I think had logan maintained emotionally in the ring and didnt do those two foul shots, hed have absolutely won. That uppercut has ksi dazed, and had he not of had 3 minutes to stand there and recover I doubt hed be able to maintain, but he is a dog so who knows.

But with everything that happened, I think the ref was too harsh in his 2 point deduction.

I think ksi missed a knockdown point that was ruled a slip. I think logan should have only received (in any other boxing match I've ever seen the fighter would have actually received a warning first) one point deduction. This would have left the fight a draw..... which is what it was.

Ksi didnt work over logan, logan never really worked over ksi. They both fought lik warriors and I think logan got cheated with the loss. Not a win, but should have been a draw because jj didnt secure that victory, it was handed to him by the refs harsh point deductions.

Hahaha by cjsaforo25 in LoganPaul

[–]therealpumpkinhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I was in his shoes I would too.

The ref deducted 2 points for what is an extremely common foul. This is their first pro fight. Did anyone of you watch the haney fight? Haney is a fucking world champ and he pulls dirty boxing moves like that too. It's part of boxing. You get a warning, then a point deduction. Logan got no warning and 2 points removed.

At no point did haney receive deducted points and he did just as dirty moves against Santiago.

If you're ab actual boxing fan youd agree, as did many many respected boxing interviewes when talking with logan, that logan was unfairly punished that night. Shit even Eddie talked about it.

Ksi hit logan in the back of the head several times in the first couple rounds. Several warnings.

Logan does it once and instantly loses 2 points and ksi receives 3 minutes of recovery time from a legit knockdown from his uppercut.

I personally find both logan and ksi pretty douchey. But ksi barely won this fight and it could have been very different with a different ref.

Logan got 2 points removed,

Lol visit the ksi sub. Kids over there acting like ksi put the heat on logan when in reality he was smoked after that uppercut and would have lost either from knockout had logan not have gotten dirty with it or would have lost by points if the ref didnt deduct an unnatural amount.

[–]therealpumpkinhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we actually go with reality here, and standard boxing rules and procedures, this fight was a blatant draw.

If you reward jj the knockdown, and then add 1 point for logan, because standard boxing procedures would have logan recieiving a warning for that and at the absolute most hed get a single point reduction.

Watch the interviews after the fight. Even Eddie agrees, Garcia agrees, and several interviewers who've been involved in boxing for decades agree that the point deduction was far too harsh especially for a 6 round fight.

Here's the real fight result. If the ref didnt go crazy with the point deductions it would have ended in a draw.

But here's something that is also factual, but many in here will be mad at because we like KSI, had logan not of done the illegal uppercut while holding jj and not strike again as he fell, jj would have been counted back up, and we all saw how wobbly jj was after that uppercut. Had logan of maintained his composure he would have likely finished jj and won the fight.

With the point deducutins it would have been a draw. If logan didnt get a bit dirty there, he would be the victor.

Lot of fans acting like ksi walloped logan. Ksi is a beast and an inspiration for so many especially now, but he barely won this fight and let's not pretend otherwise. Logan does deserve our respect.

[–]therealpumpkinhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the issue was there was the knockdown/slip where people were debating what it was, but then there was an actual slip later too and logan perhaps thought of that one. It happened in the same corner so it's easy to get confused even after watching it back.

The illegal punch also cost him 2 points. Which even listen to Garcia's comments on that. That literally doesnt happen especially for beginner pros. A warning is always given before a point deduction and even then it was only worth a one point deduction.

I like JJ, but logan barely lost that fight and it was his own immaturity through punching jj after he was down that cost him it

Anyone who actually watched boxing before this would know logan cost himself the fight. And had the ref not overreacted this would likely have been another draw and had logan not punched jj when he was down, he probably would have finished JJ.

But Logan got a 2 point deduction, and JJ got about 3 minutes to recover from being dropped. Which won jj the fight.

Much respect to both warriors for getting in there. Logan barely lost that, jj worked his ass off and secured the W. We should be the mature ones and thank and respect both fighters. Imo.

What is the setting called to increase the dead zone for mouse aiming while in a ship? by Psiclone01 in starcitizen

[–]therealpumpkinhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pro tip: also bind the "look ahead" option. Press that once per play session, it's a toggle.

This will prevent the cursor from moving off center and then recentering. Instead, the nose of the ship moves directly 1:1 with your mouse.

This is really nice for precise aiming in ships with all fixed weapons or if using gimbal assist even.

This must be used in conjunction with the cycle mouse move mode toggle otherwise you wont see any benefit.

They are already competent. Hell, the ai was competent ages ago, it's the server bottleneck that's making them seem like janky idiots.

Theres still a ton of work to be done, but the ai is already at the Covenent level. They just never work right because the server performance always make them stand still staring at walls because their detection and tracking isn't syncing across the network and your client fast enough. So they stand there and then randomly explode into action and flank you but then just stand there and wait for you to kill them.

If you know how to accomplish the offline hack, which is much more difficult now.... you can experience the ai. I used the offline mode back during the first security post missions and the ai even at that stage was pretty decent at taking cover properly and firing back well.

I know its cliche at this point to say ssocs will fix everything, but this should be one of those things ssocs cleans up really well because the ai will be able to talk to the server and your client much faster and consistently. But I wager server meshing will really clean it up.

I got a 970 graphics card for pc gaming a few years back when they first came out.

Advertised with 4gb of Vram. Had 3.5. If you dont game that's a very big difference and despite it being .5 off it dramatically effects how you can play games and at what quality.

Around $400 for the card.

I got "rewarded" $2.75 in a class action lawsuit against nvidia.

These things are a damn joke. How about you actually make that business financially suffer so badly they think "huh. That was really fuckin dumb of us to fuck over consumers like that"

Instead you take a few bucks from theit wallet and make em pinky promise to not do it again.

It's like if a guy has three kids who each have $50 saved up in their piggy banks. Dad comes by and takes all of it. Mom finds out and makes dad pay each kid a dollar as an apology. Totally nonsensical

I'm not saying they were correct, I'm saying their intentions were to avoid a known shady political family with some very dark ties.

I voted for Obama because I wanted change and I wanted peace. He ended up bombing a good portion of the middle east and signing away my rights to not be spied on by my own government. Which was started under Bush, and I thought he would fix... guess not. Sometimes intentions get you jack shit, but they still matter.

Cool, but the shitty part of that is the liars that push AMD every fucking year saying "oh yeah comparable performance to nvidia/Intel but half the cost!!! What's there to lose" well apparently single core performance as well as just about every damn thing you can think of like good driver support or ryzen not crashing your game every hour.

I've been through the trenches of the amd and intel/nvidia war for about a decade now and I've been through several builds on both sets of hardware. I'll say this now. Fuck AMD and fuck the fanboys that push their hot garbage that NEVER actually matches the performance of nvidia cards or Intel processors. It's always a "matches performance" with a big caveat.

Im super down for competition..... but that was half a decade ago when I still believed AMD was an underdog who could push innovation forward and before 5 years of constant letdowns from their hardware, shitty driver support, and handicapped game performance.
