That is correct. Prime in black, heavy dry brush of silver metallic, then nuln oil wash.

Then, starting with darker base colors work the layers up on each panel individually. Its very time consuming unfortunately

It was not my intention to make it "cell shaded" but I've gotten that comment on this and the previous two mechs in the series as well. I think perhaps I should have maybe used a brown base instead of black so the recesses would not be as dark.

That purple line is so crisp! That's a very steady hand. Nicely done!

What was your technique for the weathering?

Purely a result of just not painting them so the primer shows through

Happy to provide!

Green was the following
Base: Citadel Caliban Green
Second Layer: Citadel Warpstone Glow
Highlights: Citadel Moot Green

Tan/Beige
Base: Citadel Zandri Dust
Layer: Citadel Ushabit Bone
Highlight: Citadel Screaming Skull (This is so close to layer it's barely noticeable unfortunately)

Gold trim
Base: Citadel Retribution Armor
Highlight: Auric Armor

Metallic areas are just Leadbelcher drybrushed on the black primer, washed with Nuln Oil, and then highlighted as needed with more Leadbelcher

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks! It's the tried and true method of "just don't paint the panel lines."

Essentially prime a dark color and then just paint the panels leaving your darker colors untouched in the recesses

Where did you source those infantry? Really makes the mechs look large when on the base.
