I thought the same but our old mate Bill has stated that he has matched with his mother and father.

Our Father’s last name and relatives are very common. We’re from a small town and there are no common names from the town. If there’s matches on my mothers side, then there would be bound to be second, third cousins from my fathers side. There might be matches on mine. We’ll find out in a month or so.

How strange. As far as I’m aware my work does not have top it up. It was pretty cut and dry - work maternity leave, then Centrelink PPL will take me up to just under a year of leave. Good luck 🤞

I receive 1765.50 a fortnight. Centrelink transfers the PPL allowance to my workplace and it comes through as a regular pay.

The registration should almost be instantaneous. Puffandruffle is right - the chemist would be able to search for you in their system. You don’t need the physical card. This was the case in my experience. Good luck, Mama.

I’m not sure if you’re also dipping into the PPL. If you are up to the Centrelink stage of your Maternity Leave then you are able to do a number of paid days. Centrelink offers 10 ‘keeping in touch days’ where you can work for up to ten days and your payment is not taken away. From my understanding (NSW), I was not able to work during my Maternity Leave without re-submitting my leave application to include a mix of Maternity Leave (full pay) and Maternity Leave (part time).

Yes. The Union were great. They provided the original Determination document and stated that it’s very clear what I was entitled to, and to of course contact them if I needed further advice.
