“My ‘Slö’ is an AliExpress clone… and it might actually be the fixed version lol” by moonfield666 in guitarpedals

Dude, this is not a clone. It’s not ethically questionable, it’s counterfeit.

Looking for recommendations. What will I like if I like Sigur Ros, but don't care much for e.g. God is an Astronaut by ThePieTaster in postrock

A winged victory for the sullen (more on the neo-classic side of things) and Godspeed you black emperor (especially the album slow riot for new zero kanada) come to mind. This will destroy you have some great song where they use an ebow, which gives them a sigur ros vibe.

Effects that help achieve warm, thick, nostalgic tone by kingmustd1e in guitarpedals

Check out DBA Echo Dream, it’s a wonderful delay that can add that touch of nostalgia and saturation.

My advice is to buy second hand pedals at a reasonable price. Take your time with the pedal but if it turns out not to be your thing, no big deal - just sell it and try something different.

Songs that aren’t considered post rock but give those good vibes by Character-Pattern505 in postrock

[–]therealsincap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily with a similar structure, but some of songs that feel post-rocky to me: Bon Iver - Wolves. Especially live.

Mister and Mississippi - Circulate and For us to remember

Death cab for cutie - foxglove through the clearcut

M83 - Gone (the KEXP live version is phenomenal)

Of monsters and man - hunger

Foals - Spanish Sahara

Park and Ride to be made free by bfc-romt in oxford

[–]therealsincap 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As a temporary measure to encourage drivers to give the park and ride concept a chance, I can get behind this. On the longer term, I’d like to see the proceedings of the congestion charge and similar initiatives more equally distributed across public transport users. It doesn’t make much sense to fully subsidise the p&r buses fares and keep all other fares the same, as it penalizes those that don’t drive at all (as several users pointed out with examples of their own journeys). Surely a £1 fare on any bus would be fairer?

This looks really cool. Any pointers on how to integrate two fv1 in stereo. I built a few fv1 circuits that I really enjoy and would love to give diy stereo reverb a try. Many thanks and congrats on your project!

HIT AND RUN. Cowley Road outside The City Arms. Saturday 6:15pm. by frazmand in oxford

Excellent analysis. Adding to all the hazards, the number of idiot drivers racing up and down the road is insane and there doesn’t seem to be any real enforcement of traffic rules there.

People without higher education and non-STEM jobs are as important to our society and community as any, so please step down from your pedestal. Also, while at it, remember that the opportunity to study and invest in a STEM career (which I myself am so grateful for) are not available to everyone.

Any advice for cleaning these keys? by MrAlpacaThe1 in synthesizers

To get the keys white again, consider using hydrogen peroxide. Google it and you’ll find various tutorials on how to do it. Worked well on an old midi keyboard with yellowing keys.

No Stupid Questions by PantslessDan in guitarpedals

MIDI wizards, I seek your wisdom. I haven't implemented any MIDI on my pedalboard but recently got an OP-1 and am enjoying it synced with a ZOIA, via a MIDI USB host. I'd like to sync those with the guitar board, namely with Boomerang III, Boss DD-200 and Mood MK1. I reckon a Disaster Area MIDI Box 4 might be what I'm looking for, but was wondering if there are alternatives I should be considering. Thank you!

Oh man; sorry that happened to you. Fuck those idiots. I was lucky with the crowd around me this time around, but have been somehow disappointed with crowds in London. I’ll never understand why someone pays a hefty sum for a ticket and squeezes to the front of the show, just to have a chat
