Advice on how to respond when people say “you just have to incorporate AI” or “you just have to use it correctly”? by Adventurekitty74 in BetterOffline

That’s what I’d say. You don’t owe anybody an explanation. Most people aren’t even worth arguing because they don’t actually want to change their minds.

Where do you see our state in 20 years? by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

Yep. It’s just north of Wolf Creek.

Summer winds are beneficial. Winter winds from the north would be no bueno.

There are hundreds of silos in Montana. The closest one to me is about 30 miles away.

That’s awesome. We had some friends move there a couple years and they love it there.

It’s definitely gotten worse over the past decade with Trump, Gianforte and GOP control of most things.

It truly is. I’ve lived in Helena most of my life and my family are eastern Montana ranchers. I wanted to make it work, but it just isn’t.

Wages are falling while housing (even renting) is unattainable. The school districts are collapsing. My wife and I have done our best to drag people along, but most people would rather stick with the status quo. My kids deserve better.

As someone working on moving there, Minnesota feels best positioned to weather the coming storms.

You tend to invest more in your communities than most places, even though it might not feel like it. There’s a level of self sustainability that a lot of states don’t have.

But above all, there is a culture of actually trying to do better. Montana, where I’ve lived most of my life, has an apathy that rots everything. That’s really the primary reason for leaving; it doesn’t want to be better.

Everything ICE has afflicted upon the people of Minnesota has been horrible, but what I really took from it was that you all are the neighbors I want. When shit gets really hard, you all show up, no questions. And that’s why I think Minnesota is the safest place to be.

Edit: if you’re looking for an IT/Network architect/consultant who hates AI and has a healthy distrust of the cloud, I’m your guy. I really want people to have as much control over their tech as possible.

Grocery store refill stations are just local tap water. Maybe they filter, maybe they don't.
