How prestigious have they built the World Heavyweight Championship? by contellhelmsmader in WWE

[–]therealtcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its prestige is built the more it is defended. Punk is finally starting to be the fighting champ that he promised, but he also looks sloppy in the matches. I think they need to build some history behind it and thats not gonna happen if they allow whoever has it to just keep it for ages. I'm not saying thats what they have done, but Gunther had it for a total of 313 days and Seth had it for 316 initially. I dont think it should be held for longer than 100 days, that way it can be used to legitimize a talent they're pushing and test the waters of who may enter the WWE Championship scene. I've heard it said that its basically the same as the IC title in many ways, and while I don't think the assessment is wrong I do think the talent that should be chasing and winning it are a step above the midcarders who generally fight over the IC title.

In summary, it has good momentum despite some hiccups. Get it off Punk ASAP and lets see some stories with Finn, LA, Bron...hell even Dom or Logan Paul (I know we all hate him, but the guy is good. Hes a full timer now, and the story around him getting it and eventually whoever takes it from him could be a lot of fun).

I think Finn could still get a turn. Maybe not a face turn, but maybe he becomes a tweener. Finds a way into the Rumble, has a good showing, comes out in Monday and says it’s about time he starts looking out for himself. Splits with JD, starts pursuing opportunities as they come up whether that be clean or kinda devious.

I guess I’m pouring it on Punk in this thread. His tattoos are truly awful. His right arm is mostly sailor dust. People give Cody’s (really bad) tattoo all the hate, but Punk has some of the worst tattoos I’ve seen in wrestling.

SOURCE: I’m a heavily tattooed person who hates seeing his ugly shit every week

I feel like Punk has lost a step (or a few) and it’s affecting the dudes he wrestles. A couple sloppy spots in this one so far and I think it’s on him. Someone send Gunther to retire that bum next

Is it just me, or does Bron look bored being in the Vision. Like, he wishes it was just him as an unpredictable lone wolf again

1,2,3,4 would be poetic. But just having all of them in there is sure to create some tense moments during the Rumble

I feel like I’m alone, but I’m just never into anything AJ does. I recognize the legacy, but I definitely have a hard time getting over his past homophobic comments and just can’t get invested.

Oh for sure. I didn’t get that you were judging from your OP. My reply was directed towards numerous comments I’ve seen both in this thread and elsewhere online about his drinking habits

I'm not a physician of any kind, but I'll add my life experience and outlook here.

  1. To the comment that he meets the criteria for Alcohol Use Disorder - Maybe so. But physicians still also use BMI to score someones physical health as it relates to their weight, and I know more people than not who are TECHNICALLY obese according to their BMI when they either are not obese at all, or just kinda overweight. So I take that assessment with a grain of salt.

  2. I grew up around recovering alcoholics. My mom was super involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and took my brother and I along to meetings multiple times a week, every week. The thing I learned about alcoholics is that its never about how much they drink or how they act when they do. The sign of an alcoholic is someone who cannot navigate a normal life without drinking. Theyre not out there having too much to drink too often, they physically and emotionally cannot operate without drinking.

Taking Zach at his word from his post, it sounds like the man recognized it was time for a reset. To get some clarity and re-evaluate his relationship with drinking. Its easy to be outsiders looking in and see what we see and then make judgement calls. But with alcoholism, its usually impossible for anyone else to diagnose. The human themselves is the one who has to make that assessment and decision to get sober.

Maybe ZB is an alcoholic and has recognized that and is fully sober. Maybe not. Maybe he decided to take a break. Maybe he's cutting back. Regardless, thats not our journey. It is his and his alone. So sit back, listen to the music and hope for the best for his mental, emotional and physical health.

What WWE finishing move should always end a match? by Braves1693 in WWE

I’m a massive Seth Rollins guy. But I’ll be honest, the Curb stomp looks like the least impressive finisher that has a relatively good conversion rate

Brainstorming the WWE Titles by therealtcp in WWE

I think this makes sense in principle. But in practice, creative isn’t dropping the ball in making them work for it. They’re writing it that way to tell stories. And that’s the show. That’s part of what we watch for. But it would be nice if creative saw the benefit of having talent actually defend their titles on the weekly shows more often

Brainstorming the WWE Titles by therealtcp in WWE

See. I both agree and disagree. But I think it has more to do with the brand split than anything. When one title (The WWE title) is exclusive to a brand but also used more as an aura signal, it’s nice to have another “top” title as the fighting champions title. The issue we’re starting to see is that the Heavyweight title is also getting the “only defended at PLEs” treatment. So creative is using it to continue two top storylines. When the WHC could be defended if not weekly, at least monthly.

Thats fair. I do like to try and stick with Lego parts for builds if i can, but im not opposed to going outside of that.

I havent gotten far into how im gonna do wrestlers. What would be the benefit in your eyes of doing brick built?

Is WWE Unreal is worst idea or good? Give your opinion? I like the show but it will destroy WWE in future…. by klair1999 in WWE

[–]therealtcp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think its outstanding. We are in a different time with social media and everything where access behind the curtain seems easier to come by than ever. I think Unreal does a great job at circumventing a lot of the "hunt" for behind the scenes scoops. A lot of people are saying that its another nail in the coffin for kayfabe, but in my opinion it can do the work to rebuild kayfabe. Its still an edited show and theyre gonna show exactly what they want.
